Julius "Jake" (1894-1981) and Alphons "Bill" (1897-1972) Burkhard are shown below in their World War I uniforms.  They were 2 of 14 children of Theobald and Caroline (Singer) Burkhard, who shared two bedrooms between all of the kids!
