Harrison C. Snook

In 1900, Harry and Anna Snook (both 28) rented a home at 225 Second St. in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. Living with them were their two sons, Jesse R. (2) and James (2 mos.). Harry's occupation is difficult to read... it may be "Clerk, Electrical Mach." He had been unemployed for eight months during the previous year. According to the census, Harry and both of his parents were born in New Jersey.

The 1910 census shows Harry Snooks (37) renting part of a home at 271 South Jefferson Street in Orange, Essex County, NJ. He lived there with his wife Anna (38) and their sons Jesse (12), George (7) and Edward (3). Two other children died prior to 1910. Only Jesse attended school. Harry worked as a clerk for a phongraph company. (It should be noted that phonograph inventor Thomas Edison had a large research complex in in Orange, NJ.) According to this census, Harry and his father were natives of New Jersey, but his mother was from Illinois.

The family has not yet been found in the 1920 US Census index.

At the time of the 1930 census, the Snook family rented a home for $40 a month at 1195 Princeton Ave. in Chicago, Illinois. The household consisted of Harrison (57), his wife Anna (58), and children George (27), Edward (23), and Helen (19). Harry and the children were all born in New Jersey (as were Harry's parents). Anna was a native of Ohio. The family owned a radio set and had two boarders. Harry was not employed, butall three children were.


Anna Burkhart

In 1910, three of Anna's five children were living. Those three were Jesse, George, and Edward.


George H. Snook

In 1930, George Snook lived with his parents and younger siblings in Chicago. He was employed as a buyer for a retail grocery.


Edward P. Snook

In 1930, Edward Snook lived with his parents and siblings in Chicago. He was employed as a "beverage truck chauffer."


Helen Snook

In 1930, 19 year old Helen Snook lived with her parents and older brothers in Chicago. She was employed as a statistical worker for a telegraph company.


David H. McFadden

In 1900, David and Agnes McFadden rented a home on Richardson (?) in Allegheny City, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where they lived with their only child, Catherine, and two boarders. David worked as a machinist. According to the census, he was a native of England who came to America in 1892. David was a naturalized US citizen.

Ten years later the McFaddin family rented a home in Patton Twp., Allegheny County, PA. The household consisted of David (38), his wife Agnes (35), and their five children: Katherine (10), Mildred L. (9), Agnes C. (7), Mary C. (5), David F. Jr. (3), and Helen V. (10 mos.). A sixth child died prior to 1910. David worked as a machinist at the cement works. According to this census, he came to America in 1888.

In 1920, the family owned a mortgaged home at 605 Sunnyside Ave. in East Pittsburgh. Living in the home were David (48), Agnes (49) and their children Catherine (20), Mildred (19), Agnes (17), Mary (15), David (13), Helen (10), and Clara (6). The youngest four children attended school. David was employed as a machinist in a steel mill.

The McFaddens lived in the same home -- valued at $7000 -- at the time of the 1930 census. Living with David and Agnes were their children Mary (25), David (23), Clara (17) and William E. (9). Clara and William attended school. David Sr. still worked as a machinist in a steel mill. This census identifies his parents as natives of Ireland.


Mary C. McFadden

In 1930, 25 year old Mary McFadden lived with her parents and younger siblings in East Pittsburgh. She was employed as a beauty culturist in a beauty parlor.


David F. McFadden Jr.

In 1930, David McFadden lived with his parents and siblings in the family home in East Pittsburgh. He was employed as a construction engineer.

Dates of birth and death (fromSSDI) have not been proven.


Mary E. Burkhart

Mary Burkhart is not included with her parents and siblings in the 1880 census. She would have been about 5 years old at the time.

Marie Keegan's death certificate states that she was born 24 Aug 1875 in Woodsfield, Ohio to John Burkhart. Her mother's name was unknown, according to death certificate informant T. J. Keegan.
