Richard Walter Michel

This 50th anniversary celebration announcement:appeared in the Canton Repository on 18 Jun 2000:
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Michel of Canton will celebrate
their 50th anniversary today with a party. The party will be
given by their children: Shirley McAllister, Larry Michel,
Darrell Michel, Ruth Sonntag, Dennis Michel and Gary
Michel, all of Canton; Darlene Cline of Houston; and
their grandchildren. The former Lucille Nauer and her husband were
married June 10, 1950, in St. Joseph's Church in Burk-
hart, Ohio. They attend St. John's Catholic Church. There are 16 grandchildren and four great-grand-
children. Michel is retired from Canton Glove. Mrs. Michel is
employed at Canton Woman's Club.

Richard Michel's obituary was published in the Canton Repository, on March 1, 2006
Richard W. Michel, age 77, died Monday in Aultman
Hospital after a brief illness. He was a life resident of
Canton and was retired from the Canton Glove Co. He
was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
Survived by his wife, Lucille A Michel; three daughters
and sons-in-law, Shirley and Bruce McAllister of Massillon,
Darlene and Jim Cline of Houston, TX, Ruth and Chris
Sonntag of Canton; four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry
and Tracey Michel of Richville, Darrell and Sharon Michel
of Navarre, Dennis and Lana Michel of Massillon, Gary
and Cindy Michel of Canton; 16 grandchildren, six great
grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Arthur
Kuhn of N. Canton. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy
A. and Clara C. (Shaffer) Michel; and a brother, Wilmer J.
Michel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the
St. John’s Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Klingler as cele-
brant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends
may call Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.


Lucille Adeline Nauer

Engagement announcement:
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nauer of Lewisville (Monroe county) announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Lucille, to Richard Michel of Canton. The nuptial mass will be solemnized at 9 o’clock Saturday morning, June 10, at St. Joseph’s church in Burkhart with Rev. Father Joseph Finan officiating. Miss Gertrude Nauer will be her sister’s only attendant and Wilmer Michel will be best man for his brother. A wedding dinner will be served at the home of the bride’s parents, following the ceremony. There will be a wedding dance in the new church hall in the evening. The bride formerly lived in Zanesville and worked for St. Nicholas Catholic church. Irene Jeanette Minosky

Obituary
CALDWELL -Irene Jeannette Muth, 79, of Pleasant City,
died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at the Southeastern Ohio
Regional Medical Center, Cambridge.
She was born Aug. 11, 1929, in Ava, the daughter of the
late Pete and Sue Friday Minosky. Mrs. Muth retired from
the former March Electric plant in Cambridge after 20 years
of service. She was a member of the St. Michael Greek
Catholic Church in Belle Valley and an avid bingo player.
Surviving are her children, Marvin A. Muth of Buffalo,
Karen Sue Vickers of Stockport, Terry D. Matthews of Pleas-
ant City, Michael D. (Emmy) Muth of Alaska and Denise R.
(Al) Matthews of Caldwell; two brothers, Johnnie V. (Ruth)
Minosky of Zanesville and Ronald G. (Diane) Minosky of
Caldwell; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, the late William M. Muth, who died Oct. 31,
1979; and a sister, Joan J. Tipton.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, March
6, at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell.
Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at St. Stephen Catholic Church,
Caldwell, with Father Dale Tornes as celebrant. Burial will
be in Halley's Ridge Cemetery, Ava.


Charles R. Allton

Prior to his marriage, Charles Alton served for four years in the U.S. Air Force.


Jeanette L. Gerst

Wedding announcement:
PRIVATE RITES TAKE PLACE IN RECTORY
On Saturday afternoon [20 Jul 1957] Miss Jeanette L. Gerst, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. E. S. Gerst of 1137 Lafayette street became the bride of Charles R. Allton.
The private rites were read by the Rev. Father Linus Dury in the rectory of St.
Nicholas church. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and MRs. L. E. Allton of 435
Clark street. The attendants for the young couple were Miss Kay Waller and Elmer
A. Warner.
For her double ring ceremony, the bride chose a mint green organdy gown which
featured a scoop neckline and cap sleeves. The full skirt was gathered into a cummer-
bund of a darker shad of green satin. Her picture hat and other accessories were of the
same mint green as the gown. A corsage of white roses completed her outfit.
A pink and white sleeveless nylon gown with a full skirt was worn by the maid of
honor. Her accessories and her carnation corsage were white.
Following the wedding a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The
aides were Miss Agnes Gerst, the bride’s sister, Miss Barbara Allton, the bridegroom’s
sister, Miss Peggy Wardian, Miss Evelyn Richardson, and Mrs. Thomas Emmert of
Columbus.
When the newlyweds left for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, the bride wore a white
and brown print dress with white accessories. Upon their return they will make their home
in Circleville, O., where Mr. Allton has been transferred as assistant manager for the
Economy Savings and Loan Company.
Miss Gerst, a graduate of Rosecrans high school, is a member of St. Nicholas Catholic
church.

Prior to her marriage, Jeanette Gerst worked as a secretary at Detroit Harvester Company.
