Charles T. Ellis

In 1900, Charles P. Ellis owned a home in Warren Twp., Belmont County, Ohio with his wife Rosanila. The following data does not match that provided by researcher Mark Haren:
Charles' middle initial: P (census) vs. T. (Haren)
wife's name: Rosanila (census) vs. Eloise (Haren)
However, the couples' birthdates in the cenus (Apr 1867 and Sep 1867) match those provided by Haren, as does the nubmer of years married, so this is assumed to be the same couple.

Charles and his parents were born in Ohio. Charles was employed as an iron moulder.

At the time of the 1910 census, Charles T. Ellis owned a home at 372 South Chestnut St. in Barnesville, Warren Twp. Belmont Co., Ohio with his wife Ella (42) and daughter Maud E. (8). Maud attended school. This was the first marriage for both Charles and Ella; they had been married 13 years. Charles was employed in a glass factory.

In 1920, the Ellis family still owned the same home; Charles and Ella (both 52) lived with their daughter Maude (18). Maud did not attend school. Charles worked as a laborer in a glass factory.

According to his death certificate, widower Charles Ellis was a patient at the Columbus State Hospital when he sustained a serious accidental fall on 6 May 1939, striking the left side of his chest on a chair. He suffered contusions to the face, a broken rib and a perforated lung, which resulted in an abcess and emphysema. The death certificate states that senile psychosis was a contributing factor in his death, which occurred three weeks after the accident. The death certificate informant was the "hospital record."
