Herbert Francis Haren

In 1930, Herbert Haren (28) rented part of a two-family home at 1644 Bryn Mawr Street, in East Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio for $45 a month. The owners of the property, the family of Russian-Yiddish immigrant Morris Libman, lived in the other part of the house. He lived there with his wife of seven years, Marguerite (28) and their daughters Elaine (6) and Denise (2 yrs 10 mos). Elaine attended school. Herbert was born in Ohio, but the census indicates only that his parents were born in the United States. Herbert was a manager of a gasoline station. Like all of their neighbors, the Haren family owned a radio set.

According to the 1930 census, Marguerite's parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Elaine Haren

Elaine Haren Read had five children. Their names are not known at this time. Researcher Mark Haren gives her year of birth as 1958, which conflicts with data found in the 1930 census.


Denise Haren

Denise Haren Long had at least two children. Their names are unknown at this time.

(nee Berki); dear father of Nikki Fortner (nee Kudley) (husband Courtney); son of the late Lewis and Marie Haren; son-in-law of Edith Berki; brother-in-law of Les Berki (Tina), Edie Kobak and Giselle Berki. Funeral service Friday, March 29, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Knollwood Mausoleum, 1678 Som Center Rd. Family will receive friends at the Nicol-Wells-Kloss Funeral Home, 5252 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst (Between Richmond and Brainard) Thursday 2-4andD 6-8PM. Contributions are suggested to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
