Obituary:
Georgianna Amelia Engler, age 85, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2003, after an extended illness. Georgianna was born on September 19, 1918, in Noble County, OH to parents, John S. and Louisa K. Schneider Bing. After graduating from Lewisville High School, she came to Stark County. She lived in Perry Heights throughout most of her adult life. She married Clifford A. Engler in 1940 and celebrated 48 years of marriage on November 9, 1988. Her husband preceded her in death on August 9, 1989. Georgianna was a loving and generous daughter, wife, and mother, who devoted her life to her family and to her church. She and her husband were involved for many years in activities at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Canton and at St. Joseph Parish in Massillon. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn J. and Terry E. Meese of North Canton; granddaughter, Lauren A. Pennetti; and step-grandchildren, Lindsay E. and Geoffrey M. Meese. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 12 Noon at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Canton with Fr. John Nentwick as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery immediately following the mass. Friends may call at the church one hour before the services. The funeral procession will form at the church. The Rossi Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Georgianna's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Elizabeth Baum, John Baum, and the entire staff of Bethany Nursing Home where she has resided for the past three years. The outstanding care provided by every person who has met her needs there afforded Georgie a precious quality of life as she made her journey through each stage of Alzheimer's Disease. May God bless her Bethany "family" as they continue in their mission to serve the elderly and the infirm with love and dedication.
