John Younger

In 1860, John (33) and Frances (26) Younger owned a farm worth $1300 in Seavertown, York Twp., Morgan County, Ohio. Living in the household were children Joseph (3), Elizabeth A. (2), and John B. (1), and Florian Schrader (72), and Savannah C. Marker (14). John Younger was the only one in the home whose occupation was listed (farmer). He was born in Germany. Frances Younger and Florian Schrader were natives of Wurtemburg. The children were all from Ohio. None of the children attended school.

In 1870, John Younger (43) lived in the 6th Ward of Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. Living with him were Frances (37) Younger and children Joseph (13), Elizabeth (12), John (11), Margaret (9), Mary (8), Eva (7), Catherine (5), Pharonica (2) and Martin (1). The oldest five children attended school. Also in the household was Frances Younger's father, Florian Schrader (84). John Younger was employed as a coal hauler. He owned real estate worth $1000, and his personal possessions were valued at $200. John was a native of Prussia. Frances and her father were from Wurtemburg. The children were all born in Ohio. John was a US citizen. Everyone in the household over the age of 6 was able to read and write.


Janet Louise Dimmerling

NUPTIAL HIGH MASS IS CELEBRATED
FOR JANET DIMMERLING, JAMES HAYES
The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Edwin F. Murphy officiated
Saturday [26 May 1962] at the marriage of Miss Janet Louise
Dimmerling and James Victor Hays and celebrated the nuptial
high mass in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marietta. The bride,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dimmerling of Marietta, is a
staff nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital. The bridegroom is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwain K. Hayes of 719 Fairmont avenue.
For the double ring ceremony at 10:30 a.m. the former
Miss Dimmerling was escorted by her father. Her formal length
bridal gown of bouquet taffeta was fashioned with fabric roses
adding back interest to the waistline of the bouffant skirt. A trim
of seed pearls accented the bodice which had a scoop neckline and
close-fitting sleeves terminating in points over the bride’s hands.
Pearlized sprays of orange blossoms formed the crown to which
her three-tiered bouffant veil of pure silk illusion was attached.
A white orchid centered the cascade of American Beauty roses
carried by the bride.
As her sister’s only attendant, Miss Karen Dimmerling
of Marietta was attired in a full skirted frock of Capri blue chiffon
voile. She wore a matching maline veil held by a dainty clip trimmed
with pearls. Pink carnations were combined with pink rosebuds in
her bouquet.
The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Dwaine Theo-
dore Hays of Kokomo, Ind. Ushers were the bride’s brother, Edward
Dimmerling of Marietta, and Fred Whitacre, David Joseph, Gordon
Blickle and Fred C. Greiner, Jr., all of Zanesville.
A luncheon at the Betsy Mills Club, Marietta, was followed
by the afternoon reception in the Marietta Knights of Columbus Hall.
Guests were registered by Mrs. Carl Weisser.
The former Miss Dimmerling received her professional training
at Good Samaritan School of Nursing after graduating from St. Mary’s
High School, Marietta. She is a member of the Good Samaritan Alumni
Association.
A graduate of Zanesville High School, Mr. Hays is a member
of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He graduated from the American Tabu-
lating Institute in North Hollywood, Calif., and is an agent in Zanesville
for the Peoples Life Insurance Company of Cambridge. He and the new
Mrs. Hays will live on Dillon Falls Drive.

At the time of the 1930 census, Harry and Kathryn Ebbert rented a home at 220 Kearnsage (?) St. in Pittsburgh. Also living in the house were their children, David (11) and Martha (8), both of whom attended school. Harry still worked as a clerk in a steel mill. The Ebbert family owned a radio set.

Emil Anthony Mickel Ebbert

His date of birth is given as February 21, 1895 and his place of birth as Wheeling, West Virginia. He was unmarried and worked as a "marker" in a Pressed Steel Car Company in Pittsburgh. His physical description is given as height: medium (5' 5 1/2"), build: slender (141 lbs), eyes: blue, hair: brown.

In 1920, 24 year old Emil Ebert lived with his wife Margaret (21) and their daughter Loretta (1 yr 6 mos) in a rented home at 3615 Granada St.., Pittsburgh Ward 27, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. Emil worked as a laborer. All members of the household were born in Pennsylvanis. Emil's parents were born in Prussia and Margaret's in Germany.
