Wilfred Brubach

Obituary:
Wilfred Bill Brubach, age 86, of Canton, died Thursday morning in the home following an extended illness. Born February 15, 1915, in Canton to the late Edward and Anna Brubach. He was a member of Perry Christian Church; and was the former Assistant Director of the AARP. Preceded in death by one brother, Francis Brubach; two sisters, Mary Jane Yung and Lucille Beard. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of the home; two step-daughters, Debi Gellenbeck of New Philadelphia and Susan Gellenbeck of Bolivar; there are two grandchildren, Sandra (Jim) Espinosa of Massillon and Meg Stewart of North Royalton; two great-grandchildren, Colin and Olivia; several nieces and nephews also surviving. Memorial services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Simpson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Perry Christian Church.


Polly Lou Harris

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) on June 21, 1970: MICHEL-HARRIS CEREMONY SOLEMNIZED AT ST. NICHOLAS Rev. Thomas Brosmer of St. Nicholas Catholic Church
and Rev. Ewing Bates, pastor of Market Street Baptist
Church, officiated at the Saturday wedding of Miss Polly
Lou Harris and Eugene Regis Michel. The double ring
ceremony took place at 2 p.m. in St. Nicholas Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harris
of Route 2. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Regis E. Michel of Route 1. Given in marriage by her father, yesterday's bride wore a
floor length gown of nylon organza with high rise waist and
high neckline trimmed with Venice lace. The long sleeves
were gathered to a band around the wrist and the A-line skirt
was lace trimmed. She wore a chapel length veil held to a
nylon band. The bride's flowers were white daisies and pink
sweetheart roses atop a Bible. Miss Joy Harris, sister of the bride, wore a floor length gown
of hot pink crepe and a light pink picture hat. She carried a fire-
side basket of daisies. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Lee Bridgewater of Chauncey,
the Misses Janet and Nancy Michel, sisters of the bridegroom,
and Miss Cathy Lattick, cousin of the bride. Miss Lisa Wise of
Mount Vernon, the bride's cousin, was junior bridesmaid. All
wore floor length dresses of pink floral print and white picture
hats banded with pink ribbons. They carried fireside baskets
of daisies. Diane Moore was flower girl and her twin brother, David, was
ring bearer. Paul Michel, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man.
Guests were seated by Jim Michel, cousin of the bridegroom,
B.J. Harris, the bride's cousin, Bob Sayre, Doug Littick, a cousin
of the bride, and Dennis Michel, brother of the bridegroom. A reception followed at the YWCA. Assistants were Mrs. Paul
Michel, Miss Becky Williams, Miss Teresa Mohler, Miss Cindy
Gibson and Miss Diane Harris, cousin of the bride. During the late afternoon Mr. Michel and his bride left for a
two week's trip in the west. Later they will live at Norwich. Mrs. Michel is a graduate of Maysville High School and
attended Ohio University at Zanesville and Meredith Business
college. She is a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Phi Eta
Xi Chapter, and Market Street Church. She is employed in the
traffic department of General Electric at New Concord. Mr. Michel is a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School
and attended Ohio University at Zanesville. He is employed by
his father at Farm Supply Center.


Jared Eugene Michel

and Mrs. Eugene R. Michel of Route 4. Grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. Regis Michel of route 1 and Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Jarris of Route 2. Great-grandparents are Edward
Michel of Caldwell Route 1 and Mr. and Mrs Ross Wise of

Victoria A. Barnes

The following wedding announcement accompanied a picture of the bride that appeared in the Time Recorder (Zanesville, OH) on June 27, 1976: AFTERNOON CEREMONY PERFORMED SATURDAY Miss Victoria Barnes and Dennis C. Michel were
married at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Nicholas Catholic
Church by Rev. Charles Cotton. Mrs. Michel is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Barnes of 2325
Clay pike, and Mr. Michel is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Regis Michel of Route 1. The yoke and cuffs of the bride's organza gown
were trimmed with cluny lace. The dress featured
long, sheer sleeves, a ruffle of organza and an empire
waist. The hip length bridal veil was edged with cluny
lace. The bride's sister, Miss Erin Barnes, served as her
maid of honor. She wore a mint green polyester dress
with long sleeves, V-neckline and empire waist, trimmed
with a wide white collar and cuffs and lace. She wore a
white picture hat trimmed with daisies and mint green
streamers. The bride's sister, Miss Diane Barnes, was the flower
girl. The best man was the bridegroom's brother, Eugene
Michel. Ushers were the bride's brother Jeffrey Barnes
and Bill Wagner. A reception was held in the home of the bride's parents
after the ceremony. Mary, Betsy and Jennifer Barnes, sis-
ters of the bride, assisted as well as Mrs. Galen Peck, the
bridegroom's sister, and the bride's aunts, Mrs Carl Wartenbe
and Mrs. Larry Ebersbach. Mrs. Michel graduated from Rosecrans High School in
1975 and is a student at Muskingum Area Technical College.
She is a member of St. Nicholas Church. Mr. Michel graduated from Rosecrans in 1972 and is a
farmer. He also belongs to St. Nicholas Church. After a trip to Canada, the couple will reside on Route 1.

The following wedding announcement accompanied a picture of the bride that appeared in The times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) on February 7, 1971: MISS MICHEL WEDS SATURDAY Msgr. Linus J. Dury and Rev. Thomas McLaughlin officiated
at the wedding Saturday of Miss Janet Sue Michel and Donald
J. Hawk. The ceremony took place at 2 p.m. at St. Nicholas
Catholic Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Regis E. Michel of
Route 1. Mr. Hawk's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hawk of
Danville Route 2. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a floor length
gown of Chantilly lace styled with high ruffled neckline, fitted high
rise bodice and long sleeves cuffed at the wrists. The skirt extended
into a chapel length train accented in the back with a double Dior
bow. Her headpiece was fashioned of petals with an elbow length
illusion veil. She carried white carnations and pink sweetheart
roses in a heart-shaped arrangement. Miss Nancy Michel, the maid of honor, wore a floor length gown
of maroon dacron double knit with short sleeves. Her headpiece
was a double bow with attached veil and she carried pink pom-
poms. The bridesmaids, Miss Linda Michel, cousin of the bride, and
Miss Karen Michel, a sister, wore gowns styled the same as the
honor attendant's. They, too, carried pink pompoms. Anita and Phil Mickley, cousins of the bridegroom, were flower
girl and ring bearer. The bridegroom's brother, Ronald Hawk, was best man. guests
were seated by Earl Mickley, Charlie Jacobs, Eugene Michel and
Dennis Michel. The reception followed at Knights of Columbus Hall. Assistants
were Mrs. Sergis Michel of Caldwell and Mrs. Cletus Michel, aunts
of the bride, Mrs. Paul Michel, a sister-in-law, and Mrs. Earl Sorg
of Mount Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Hawk will honeymoon in Washington, D.C. for a
week after which they will reside on Danville Route 2. The former Miss Michel is a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High
School and is a member of St. Nicholas Church. She has been em-
ployed as a bookkeeper at Farm Supply Center, Inc. Mr. Hawk, a 1965 graduate of East Knox High School is a mem-
ber of St. Luke's Catholic Church at Danville. He is owner of Skyline
Turkey Farm.

The following wedding announcement accompanied a picture of the bride that appeared in the Time Recorder (Zanesville, OH) on June 13, 1976: MISS NANCY MICHEL BRIDE OF GALEN PECK Rev. Charles Cotton, officiated at the ceremony
Saturday in which Miss Nancy Michel, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Regis Michel of route 1, became the
bride of Galen Peck of Norwich Route 1, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Peck of Marion Route 3, Ill. The wed-
ding was solemnized at 3 p.m. before the altar of St.
Nicholas Catholic church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a
gown which she had made. It was fashioned of poly-
ester satin with lace neckband and high rise bodice
with long lace sleeves ending in cuffs. The detachable
lace train was accented with a double bow. He silk
illusion veil was worn from a bonnet-shaped headpiece
of lace with pearl accents. She carried a bouquet of
Minuet roses and baby's breath with orchid accents. Miss Karen Michel was her sister's honor attendant.
She was attired in an orchid dress with empire waistline
and elbow length sleeves. She wore an orchid picture
hat and carried a fireside basket of assorted flowers
and Minuet roses. Mrs. Don Hawk of Danville, sister of the bride, Miss
Sue Bowman and Miss Marcia Gildow were bridesmaids.
Their dresses were an orchid floral print with accents of
rose and blue, designed the same as the maid of honor's.
They wore orchid picture hats and their fireside baskets
were filled with pastel flowers and Minuet roses. Becky King, niece of the bridegroom, and Jared Michel
nephew of the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer. Edward Heil was Mr. Beck's best man. Guests were
seated by Dennis Michel, brother of the bride, Kenny
Knicely and Darrell Peck, brother of the bridegroom. A reception followed at Knights of Columbus Hall. Serving
as assistants were Mrs. Donald Michel, Mrs. Paul Michel
and Mrs Gene Michel, sisters-in-law of the bride, Mrs.
Charles King, the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Earl Sorg and
Mrs. Danny Backus. After a short wedding trip, the Pecks will live on route 1. Mrs. Peck is a graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School
and a member of the church in which she was married. She
is a bookkeeper at Farm Supply Center, Inc. Mr. Peck is a graduate of Tri-Valley High School and is
employed as a truck driver by Porter Bros., Inc. at Brownsville.
He, too, is a member of St. Nicholas Church. Before her marriage the bride was honored with parties
given by Mrs. Paul Michel, Mrs. Gene Michel and Mrs. Don-
ald Michel.


Karen A. Michel

The following birth announcement appeared in the Chit Chat Column of the Zanesville Signal on July 24, 1957: The daughter born at Good Samaritan hospital to
Mr. and Mrs. Regis Michel of Route 1, has been named
Karen Ann. Grandparents are Edward Michel of Caldwell
and Mr. and Mrs. William Yontz of Lewisville. They are
the parents of six other children, donald, 15, Paul, 12,
Eugene, 9, Janet, 6, Dennis, 3, and Nancy, 2.

The following note appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on Feb 3, 1964 Treated and dismissed were: . . . . Karen Michel, 8, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Regis
Michel of Zanesville Route, who was shot in the
palm of her right hand with a BB by her brother, at
Good Samaritan.
