Charles Henry Wurtzbacher

Charles was of medium height and build, with gray hair and dark brown eyes. He had no obvious physical disabilities.

In 1930, Charles Wurtzbacher (51) and his wife Catherine E. (49) owned a home worth $4000 at 1105 McColloch St. in the Clay district of Wheeling's 2nd Ward. Children in the household were Anna M. (22), Adolph J. (18), Willard H. (16), Joseph R. (14), Henry J. (11), Robert R. (9), Alma B. (7), Edward C. (4 yrs 4 mos), and Sarah J. (8 mos). Joseph, Henry, Robert and Alma attended school. The oldest four children worked outside the home. Everyone in the household was a native of West Virginia. Charles' and Catherine's parents were born in Germany. Charles was employed as a printer in a glass factory. Like most of their neighbors, the Wurtzbacher's owned a radio set.

Adolph J. Wurtzbacher

In 1930, 18 year old Adolph Wurtzbacher lived with his parents and siblings in Wheeling. West Virginia. He worked as a wholeale produce salesman.


Willard H. Wurtzbacher

In 1930, 16 year old Willard Wurtzbacher lived with his parents and siblings in Wheeling. West Virginia. He worked as a laborer in a glass factory (perhaps the same glass factory where his father was employed).


Joseph R. Wurtzbacher

In 1930, Joseph Wurtzbacher (14) lived with his parents and siblings in Wheeling. West Virginia. He attended school and worked as a newspaper carrier.
