Harry William Kuhn

US Army Enlistment records for World War II indicate that an unmarried Harry W. Kuhn, native of Noble County, OH, enlisted in the army on 28 Jan 1942. His civil occupation was "oil and gas man" and he had 1 year of high school education.

ANNIVERSARY OBSERVED BY KUHNS
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kuhn of 618 Putnam avenue
observed their silver wedding anniversary Saturday.
Mrs. Kuhn is the former Louise Fouch, daughter
of the late Harry and Mary Fouch of Zanesville. Mr. Kuhn’s
parents were George and Goldie Kuhn of Canton.
The couple has three children, Linda, Danny and
Cathy. Mr. Kuhn is a mechanic for the Zanesville Street and
Sanitation Department.


Louise Fouch

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Sunday Times Signal (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on November 26, 1944:
Louise Fouch Becomes Bride of Sgt. Harry Kuhn
Miss Louise Fouch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fouch of 919 Fernanda street, became the bride of Staff Sgt. Harry W Kuhn, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Kuhn of Canton, at a single ring service which took place Thursday, Nov. 9, at St. John's Cathedral in Canton, Rev. George McGuire officiated.
Attending the couple were Miss Cleo Kuhn and Hubert Kuhn, sister and cousin of the bridegroom.
The bride was attired in a white satin gown fashioned with a sweetheart neckline. Her veil was of fingertip illusion, and her only jewelry was a locket, a gift from Sgt. Kuhnu (sic). The new Mrs. Kurn (sic) carried a bouquet of white roses and gardenias.
As maid of honor, Miss Kuhn wore a blue satin gown and a corsage of American Beauty roses.
Thirty guests attended a wedding dinner immediately following the ceremony. A three-tier wedding cake formed the table centerpiece.
After attending St. Nicholas high school, the bride was employed at Good Samaritan hospital. Sgt. Kuhn was graduated from Fulda high school. He recently returned after serving nearly two and a half years on the Aleutian Islands, and is now stationed at Camp Swift, Texas.
The bride will reside with her parents.
