Cecil R. Deist

The following article appeared in a photo spread titled "Photo Highlights of Zanesville and Vicinity" in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 20 Dec 1959.
Cecil Deist, who lives five miles north of Beverly on
State Route 77 doesn't have far to go to seen an
example of the Mound Builder's (sic) art. All he needs
to do is look out his farm window. The mound has
never been opened and Deist credits it with saving his
home from being demolished by a proposed highway
project which was halted to avoid damaging the mound.
