Ralph P. Wade

In 1930, Ralph Wade (27) and his wife Catherine (26) owned a home in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio. They lived with their children, William C. (8), Ralph J. (7), and Barbara G. (1 yr 6 mos). The two boys attended school. Ralph was the proprietor of a grocery store, and was a veteran of the World War. The family did not own a radio set.


Catherine May Bettinger

In 1910, seven year old Cassie Bettinger lived with her mother and step-father, Lilly and Logan Wheeler, and step brother Herbert in Buffalo Twp., Noble County, Ohio. Logan Wheeler was a coal miner.

In 1920, Catherine Bettinger (17) had moved with her family to the 4th Ward of Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio. The household consisted of her step father L. H. Wheeler (33), her mother, Lilly Wheeler (34), step-brother Herbert Wheeler (10), uncle Clyde Dudley (20), and a boarder. Catherine attended school and also worked in the dip room of a pottery factory.
