William K. Ullman

William Ullman’s obituary was published in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 2 Jun 1938:
Funeral services for William K. Ullman, 76, of Harrietsville, who died Wednesday morning [1 Jun 1938] at 5:15 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Clark, 447 Schaum avenue, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Harrietsville M.E. church. Burial will be in the Harrietsville cemetery.
Mr. Ullman had been ill from a complication of diseases for the past year and one-half but had suffered a stroke three weeks ago hastening his death.
The deceased had been making his home in this city for the past year. While residing in Harrietsville he was employed by the telephone company for 17 years. He was a member of the Lutheran church in Harrietsville.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Caroline Ullman; three daughters, Mrs. Clark, at whose home he died’ Mrs. Mary Hall, Zanesville, and Mrs. Clyde Schaffer, of Marietta; four sons, Walter, Daniel, and Vernon Ullman, all of Zanesville, and Charles Ullman of Coal Run; five brothers, Jacob, Peter and John Ullman of Harrietsville, Phillip Ullman of Lower Salem, and Fred Ullman of Ironton; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Schaffer, Harrietsville, and Mrs. Caroline Moore, of Belpre and several children and great-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Dean funeral home until noon Friday when it will be removed to Harrietsville for services.

MISS ULLMAN TO MARRY THIS EVENING
Miss Sondra Kay Ullman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Donald E. Ullman of 63 Sandy lane, South Zanesville,
and Robert James Stephenson, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harley Stephenson of Route 2, will be married at 8
o’clock tonight at the First Free Methodist Church.
Rev. James Mason will officiate at the open cere-
mony.
Miss Ullman has asked Miss Connie Morehead
to be her maid of honor. Best man will be Allen
Milatovich, and ushers will be Donald Ullman,
brother of the bride, and David Brooks.
The reception will be held at Nichol’s Restaurant.
Aides will be Miss Marsha Smith, Miss Debbie Wal-
lace, cousin of the bride, Miss Linda Atkinson, Miss
Becky Stephenson, sister of the bridegroom, and
Miss LaDonna Ullman, sister of the bride.
Miss Ullman is employed by the Ross IGA Store.
Mr. Stephenson is an airman second class stationed
in Japan.

MISS ULLMAN FIANCEE OF MR. OKEY
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ullman Sr. of Route 7 announce
the engagement of their daughter, LaDonna, to John Okey,
son of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Okey of 20 Hazel avenue,
South Zanesville.
Miss Ullman is a senior at the Muskingum Area Joint
Vocational School. She is employed at Martin’s Ace
Hardware at Zane Plaza Shopping Center.
Mr. Okey, a graduate of Maysville High School, is em-
ployed by the Stewart-Glapat Company.

AFTERNOON CEREMONY SOLEMNIZED SATURDAY
In a double ring ceremony solemnized at 1:30 p.m.
Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic church, Miss LaDonna
Ullman exchanged wedding vows with John Okey. The
bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Ullman of
Route 7. Mr. Okey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John K.
Okey of 20 Hazel avenue, South Zanesville. Rev. Paul
J. D. Scanlon, pastor of St. Thomas Catholic church,
officiated at the wedding.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a
gown of white chiffon over satin. It was designed with
long sleeves, high neckline and empire waist. The
A-line skirt was enhanced with a detachable train and
trimming the gown were appliqués of daisies and seed
pearls. Her floor length veil was caught to a beaded
lace bandeau and she carried a colonial bouquet of
white carnations and Sweetheart roses.
The honor attendant, Miss Kristy Greiner, wore pink
floral chiffon over pink satin, styled with ruffled hemline
and cape-like sleeves. Her flowers were pink carnations
in a colonial arrangement.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. John Maxwell, Mrs. William
Arbaugh and Mrs. Robert Stephenson, sister of the bride.
They wore pink, green, yellow, and white floral chiffon
over white satin, styled the same as Miss Greiner’s.
They also carried colonial bouquets.
Karie Ullman, the bride’s niece, and Robby Stephen-
son, a nephew, were flower girl and ring bearer.
Terry Neal was Mr. Okey’s best man. Ushers were
Tim Neal, John Maxwell, and Steve Thomas.
After the wedding a reception was held at Knights of
Columbus hall where assistants were Mrs. Donald
Searls, Miss Martha Ullman, sister of the bride, Miss
Stephanie Thomas and Mrs. Donald Ullman, the bride’s
sister-in-law.
Mr. and Mrs. Okey are residing on Route 6, South
River road.
Saturday’s bride is a 1972 graduate of Maysville High
School and Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School.
She is employed by Mattingly Foods, Inc., as a key punch
operator.
Her husband, a 1970 graduate of Maysville High
School, is an employee of Stewart-Glapat Corp.
