Philomena R. Kullman

Evidence suggests that Minnie may not be the biological child of Nicholas and Louisa Kullman. The relationship listed in the 1900 census is not "daughter;" it appears to be "Bound" or "Boeard." In addition, the census indicates that Louisa Kullman had not given birth to any children. It further states that Louisa was born in Pennsylvania, but Minnie's mother was born in Ohio. (The 1910 census lists Minne as the Kullmans' daughter.) Finally, the obituary of Philomena's mother, Louise Kullman, makes no mention of her daughter. It states "Her only survivors are several nieces and nephews."

nothing but water, and thinks it is not a bad drink after all.

Elizabeth Estadt

Elizabeth spoke English; she could read, but was unable to write. According to the census, all four of Elizabeth Estadt Hupp's children were living in 1900. This conflicts with church records, which state that she had six children, two of whom died. Those were Ottilia (who died in 1897, age 5) and an unnamed infant (who died in 1895). In all, five of Elizabeth's children died in infancy or childhood.

The 1910 cesus states that six of Lizzie's 11 children were living.

The following article appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder (pg 7) on 23 Jul 1938:

In 1920, C. C. Dimmerling (23) and his wife Ida rented a farm in Stock Twp. , Noble County, Ohio. There were no children in the household. Clarence is the last person listed on page 4A of the census. His surname is illegible, but Ida's, on the next page, is clear.

In 1930, C.A. Dimmerling (33) and his wife Ida (31) owned a farm in Stock Township where they lived with their son Vernon (10). The family did not own a radio set. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to E. W. Barnes and William Thompson.

of Mr. and Mrs. William Dimmerling, of Caldwell, underwent an

Memorial hospital.

Charles Michael Archer

From the Caldwell Citizens' Press, 19 Nov 1885:
Married -- At St. Michaels church by Rev. father Fladung, Nov. 10,
Charles Archer and Miss Matilda Wilt.

The 1900 cenus entry for the family of Michael Archer is a little confusing. It lists 32 year old Michael Archer, and his wife of three years, Matilda. There are four children in the house: son Harley (7), daughter Ida (2), stepson Andrew (12), and stepson Earl (9). Matilda is shown as having given birth to five children, three of whom are living. If correct, this evidence suggests that Matilda Wild was Michael's first wife, and that his second wife was also named Matilda.

In 1900, 32 farm laborer Michael Archer and his family lived in a house in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio. (There is no indication of whether the house was rented or owned.) Michael and his parents were born in Ohio. They boys all attended school, and everyone in the house over the age of 10 could read and write.

In 1910, 42 year old Michael Archer lived with is 42 year old wife and six children. The two oldest are listed as Michael's stepsons. Andrew (22), Edward E (19), Harley (17), Ida (11), John K (4), and Michael (2).

At the time of the 1930 census, Michael M. Archer and his wife Matilda (both 62) owned a farm in Stock Twp. where they lived with their son Cain M. (22).

Mathilda Wild

Andrew and Edward are listed as the stepsons of Michael Archer in the 1900 and 1910 census.

John Nicholas Kuhn
