Fredrick Ball

At the time of the 1930 census, Fredrick Ball (63) and his wife Minnie M. (48) owned a house on Old Frontage Rd. in Brimfield, Summit Co., Ohio. Based on calculations from the census, Fredrick was first married in 1887, while Minnie was first married in about 1915, indicating that Minnie was not Fredrick's first wife. Also living in the household in 1930 were Fredrick's daughter Dollie M. (22) from his first marriage, and daughter Freda E. (12) and son Billie A. (5) from Fred's marriage to Minnie. Fred worked as a potter in a tile shop. He was a native of England who came to America in 1874. He was a naturalized citizen. Like many of their neighbors, the Ball family owned a radio set.


Martin Boniface Poulton

According to his US military draft registration card, filled out 12 Sep 1918, 34 year old Martin Boniface Poulton was a self-employed pool room proprietor. His nearest relative was Mrs. Edythe Poulton of Woodsfield.

Edith R. Schumacher

The following note appeared under the “Personals” heading in the Zanesville Signal on 20 Jun 1934:
Woodsfield - Mr. and Mrs. Harold Poulton, Akron, O. were
guests of the former’s grandfather, Frank Schumacher, first
of the week. They were accompanied here by Mrs. Edith
Poulton, daughter Marjorie and son Gene of Kent, O., who
will make their home with Mrs. Poulton’s father, Frank Schu-
macher.


Edna K. Clark

Edna Clark Burt’s obituary was published in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 13 Aug 1976:
CHESTERHILL - Mrs. Edna Clark Burt, 68, of Stockport Route 3 died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at her home following a long illness.
A member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, she was also a member of the Oakland Grange and sold Avon products for 13 years in the ale and Chesterhill communities.
Mrs. Burt was born July 1, 1908 in Elby, O. On April 30, 1927 she married Leland C. Burt who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dwight and Bernard of Stockport Route 3, one daughter, Mrs. Fama Wilcoxan of Gilman, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Adeline Adams of Benoit, O., 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home, and burial will be in Bartlett Cemetery.
