Franz Joseph Ritterbeck

Records conflict on date of birth:
Snider Oct 1781
1850 & 1870 census 1802

In 1860, 58 year old farmer Joseph Ritterbeck lived in Enoch Twp., Noble Co., Ohio with his 48 year old wife Rosanna and their five year old son John. Both Joseph and Rosanna were born in Wurtenburg (Germany).

In 1870, 78 year old weaver Joseph Ritterback lived in Enoch Twp., Noble County with his wife Roseanna (58). No children are listed in the household. Joseph did not own the property on which he lived, and the value of their personal possessions was $600. Joseph was born in France, and Roseana in Wurtemburg. Neighboring households in the census were those of John Gerst Sr. and Edward Warner.

Rosanna

Records conflict on date of birth:
Snider 30 Jul 1802
1860 & 1870 census 1812
1880 census 1803
If correct, the birth date given by Delores Snider (citing church records) and the 1880 census would mean that Roseanna was about 53 years old when her son was born.

In 1880, 77 year old widow Rosanna Ritterbeck lived with the family of her nephew Louis Ritterbeck in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

John Ritterbeck

In 1860, five year old John is listed as the only child in the household of Joseph Reuthbrick and his wife Rosanna. Ten years later, John is not listed in the household. It is not known if he was living elsewhere, or if he died before 1870.
