Margaretha Krieger

One source (Catherine Dzurec in "Michel Family Tree") gives Margaretha's maiden name as Skiakovski.

Edward Clements Schott

Twenty-six year old unmarried Edward Schott did not live with his parents and siblings at the time of the 1910 census. In 1920, 35 year old farm laborer Edward C. Schott lived in a rented home Clarencetown, in Dayton Twp., Cedar County, Iowa with his 24 year old wife Edith and their two children Kenneth (3 yrs, 2 mos) and Iona (1 yr 3 mos). Edward's brother Albert also moved to Iowa, although he lived in a different county in 1920.

In 1930, Edward Schott (42) was a lodger in the house of fellow Ohio native David H. Peterson (57) at 428 E. Point, Fort Wayne, Cedar Co., IN. Edward's marital status indicates that he is currently married, although his wife is not living in the household. Edward was employed as a laborer in a gas plant.

Edith Elizabeth Klinkkammer

According to the 1920 census, Elizabeth's father was born in Iowa and her mother was born in Germany. This contradicts the 1930 census, which states that her father was a native of Illinois.

Twenty four year old unmarried Albert Schott did not live with his parents at the time of the 1910 census.

On September 12, 1918, 33 year old farmer, Albert John Schott of No. 1, Mechanicsville, Cedar Co., Iowa registered for the military draft. Accroding to his draft registration card, he was born on August 15, 1885 and his nearest relative was Minnie Schott of Mechanicsville. In 1920, 34 year old farmer Albert Schott lived in a rented home in Rome Twp., Jones Co., Iowa with his wife Minnie (28) and their three sons, Lawrence (7), Nelson (6), and Elmer (3 yrs 10 mos). At the time of the 1930 census, Albert J. Schott (44) was back in Ohio. He and his wife Minnie (39) rented a farm on Market Ave. N. in Plain Twp., Stark County, Ohio where they lived with their children Lawrence N. (18), Nelson J. (16), Elmer J. (13), and Geneva M. (5). Nelson and Elmer attended school. According to the census, the boys were all born in Iowa, and Geneva was born in Ohio. This conflicts with information provided by researcher Linda Kay Anderson, which states that Lawrence was born in Ohio, and the next three children were all born in Iowa.

On Sept 12, 1918, self employed farmer, 35 year old (DOB May 13, 1883) John Balsar Biedenbach registered for the military draft. Laura Elizabeth Schott

Records conflict on date of birth. Linda Kay Anderson (citing A History of the Smithberger Family in America) gives 9 Nov 1886. Social Security Death Index gives 5 Nov 1886. The 1900 census says Nov 1887.

Laura is listed twice in the 1910 Census: once as the wife in the household of John B. Biedenbach, and once as a daughter in the household of Nicholas F. Schott.
