JoAnn Smith

JO ANN SMITH HONORED AT BRIDAL PARTY
Miss JoAnn Smith, bride-elect of Charles Maurice Hohman, was
guest of honor at a bridal party given Tuesday evening by her niece, Miss
Peggy Albritain at her home, 1365 Hoge avenue. A miscellaneous shower
was presented to Miss Smith.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Smith Sr.
of 909 Putnam avenue. Mr. Hohman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H.
Hohman of Zanesville, Route 4. The wedding will be Saturday, August 24.

OBSERVE OPEN CHURCH CUSTOM AT SATURDAY MORNING VOWS
The custom of open church will be observed at the wedding of
Miss JoAnn Smith and Charles M. Hohman planned for 9:30 o’clock
Saturday morning. The double ring ceremony will be solemnized in St.
Nicholas Catholic church with the bridegroom’s uncle, the Rev. Father
Andrew Hohman celebrating the nuptial high mass. Father Hohman is
the pastor of the Church of the Atonement at Crooksville.
As guests arrive for the wedding, Miss Mary Flood will present
a program of organ selections. She will be accompanist for the vocalist,
Francis Korn, who will sing the mass.
Miss Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Smith, Sr., of 909
Putnam avenue, has asked her sister, Miss Mary Elizabeth Smith to serve
as maid of honor in the wedding party. Bridesmaids will be Miss Peggy
Allbritain, niece of Miss Smith; Mrs. Marvin Walker and Mrs. Charles
Kent. Miss Victoria Ann Smith, niece of the bride-elect, will serve as
junior bridesmaid, while another niece, Miss Barbara Elaine Smith, will
fulfill the role of flower girl. Little Mark Gregory Smith, nephew of the
bride, will be ring bearer. Mr. Smith will escort his daughter down the
aisle.
The prospective bridegroom’s best man will be his brother,
Richard Hohman. Ushering will be George Rundag, Jr., James T. Smith,
brother of the bride-elect, and Theodore Lazar. Miss Smith’s nephew,
Charles Allbritain, will be junior usher.
After their daughter’s wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Smith will be
host to a wedding breakfast at Winsor’s for the bridal party and immediate
families. In the afternoon between the hours of 2 and 4 o’clock, they will
entertain with a reception at their home. Named as aides are Mrs. Cecil
Allbritain, sister of the bride, and her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ralph G. Smith
and Mrs. C. O. Smith, Jr.
Thursday evening the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H.
Hohamn of Zanesville, Route 4, will give a rehearsal dinner at Johnston’s
municipal airport restaurant.
Miss Smith is employed in the office of Zanesville Mould com-
pany. She is a member of Alpha Gamma, Nu Phi Mu unit of Beta Sigma
Phi sorority. The bride-to-be and her fiancé are both members of St.
Nicholas church.
Mr. Hohman is employed as a draftsman by the Newark Stove
company. Both he and Miss Smith are graduates of Rosecrans high school.


Richard Clarence Hohman

Richard C. Hohman lived in Des Moines, Iowa in 1981.


Louis Dale Hohman

On March 12, 1966, Dale Hohman was the best man at the wedding of his brother-in-law Thomas Carl Bunting to Michal Jo Parsons at St. Nicholas Church in Zanesville, Muskingum Co., OH. His wife, the bridegroom's sister, was a serving assistant at the reception.

From the “Armed Forces” column of The Zanesville Times Recorder (pg 11 A) 19 Oct 1966:
AIR NATIONAL GUARD
Louis D. Hohman, who resides with his wife, Connie,
at 931½ Findley avenue, has enlisted in the local unit if the OANG
and is receiving basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas. He is
also scheduled to attend the electrical power production specialists
course at Sheppard AFB, Texas.

In May 1969, Louis Dale Hohman and Connie L. Hohman sold a lot in Falls Township, according to the real estate section of the Zanesville Times Recorder.

Dale Hohman lived in Pickerington, Fairfield County, Ohio in 1981.


Margo Sue Bunting

ZANESVILLE -- Margo Sue Bunting, 65, of Zanesville, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at her home.

She was born June 2, 1938, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Carl Bunting and Betty A. Dougherty Bunting. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, a 1956 graduate of Rosecrans High School and a homemaker.

Surviving area sister, Connie (Dale) Hohman of Pickerington; a brother, Thomas C. (Lisa) Bunting of Zanesville; and four nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, with Father Emmanuel Bertrand, O.P., officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Thomas School. Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Maureen S. Keller

Obituary:

Maureen S. Hohman, age 58 of Massillon, OH passed away Tuesday evening in the Massillon Community Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Wadsworth, OH on September 3, 1944 she was the daughter of the late, Harold and Catherine Keller.

She was a graduate of Timken High School and received her Masters Degree in Technical Education from Akron University. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and a member of the Western Reserve Poodle Club. For many years she had owned and was a breeder of miniature poodle show dogs.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert who passed away in 1979. Survivors include her husband, Paul Hohman of the home, to whom she would have been married for 37 years on May 14th; her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tracy Hohman of Louisville and grandson, Robert Thomas Hohman; her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and William Pulliam of Maui, Hawaii; two nephews, Michael (Jenna) Pulliam of California and Matthew Pulliam of Hawaii; her aunt, Margaret Barnhart of Canton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Dyer as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home on Friday evening 6-9 p.m.


Robert Paul Hohman

STARK BOY IS KILLED WHEN STRUCK BY CAR
Massillon -- Robert P. Hohman, 11, of 2916 12th St. NW, Perry Township,
was struck by a car and killed about 5 p.m. Friday near his home, township police
said. A Beach City man who was driving the car was not cited, police said.
The accident, which police said occurred in the 2900 block of 12th Street, is still
under investigation. The boy was pronounced dead at Doctor's Hospital.
