Tony Gildow

In 1930, 30 year old Tony Gildow owned a farm in Aurelius Twp., Washington Co., Ohio where he lived with his wife Edna (25) and children Evelyn R. (7), Frank H. (6), Roy D. (3 yrs 11 mos), Harold E. (1 yr 5 mos.), and Dwight (5 mos.). Tony was employed as a tool dresser in the oil industry..

The 1930 census includes two children of Tony and Edna Gildow -- Dwight and Harold -- who are not listed by Joann Cummings in her Estadt family history.

Edna was in the household of her grandfather Florian at the time of the 1910 census.

Margaret Miller is listed as a surviving sibling in the 1961 obituary of her brother, Joseph.

Gertrude A. Miller

The following note appeared in The Caldwell Journal Leader on 17 Nov 1915
FULDA -- Miss Gertrude Miller, who was operated upon at Zanesville,
last week is improving as well as can be expected.

It has not been confirmed that this is the daughter of Henry and Mary (Nau) Miller.

Gertrude Miller Wehr was a widow at the time of her death.


Clarence Jacob Schott

On June 5, 1918, 21 year old farmer, Clarence Jacob Schott (dob: October 7, 1896; pob: Noble Co., Ohio) of Rt. 4, Caldwell, Ohio registered for the military draft. His draft registrtion card lists Margaret Schott of Rt. 4, Caldwell, Ohio as his nearest relative and his employer. His physical description is given as short, medium build, brown eyes and brown hair.

In 1930, Clarence Miller (33) owned a farm in Stock Twp., Noble County, Ohio. He lived with his wife Clara C. (31) and daughter Thelma M. (6). Thelma attended school. The Schotts were one of only two families on that page of the census who owned a radio set. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to John Fisher and Beda Hill.

From The Zanesville Times Recorder, 7 Jul 1939:
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schott and daughter Thelma of Fulda were
shopping in town [Berne] Monday.

Obituary from the Zanesville Times Recorder, page 10-A, 8 Mar 1973:
CALDWELL - Clarence J. Schott, 76, former Noble County
school attendance officer and retired farmer died at 10:30 a.m. Wednes-
day at his home here after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Schott was born Oct. 7, 1896 in Noble County, a son of
Peter and Margaret Yeagle Schott. He was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic church at Fulda.
Surviving are his widow, Clara; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbert
(Thelma) Kinnen of Caldwell; and three grandchildren, Dale, Dianna,
and Dennis Kinnen, all of Caldwell.
The body was taken to Brubach Funeral Home at Summerfield
and will be taken to the Murphy Funeral Home here where friends may
call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's
church with Rev. Walter Heinz officiating. Burial will be in Olive Ceme-
tery here.


Clara C. Miller

According to the Ohio online death certificate index, Clara Miller was had eight years of education and worked as a restaurant manager.


Francis Robert Miller

From the Zanesville Times Recorder, page 7-C, 10 Sep 1969:
Funeral service for Francis Robert Miller, 39, of Caldwell Route 4, who died at 8:40 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 7) at Good Samaritan hospital as a result of injuries received when a farm tractor he was driving overturned on him, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Fulda with Rev. J. J. Donaldson officiating.
Mr. Miller was born Feb. 10 1930 in Noble County, a son of Adam J. and Emma Arnold Miller. He was an employee of Ohio Auger Mining company the past two years. Mr. Miller was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church at Fulda, near Caldwell, and a veteran of the Korean war.
Surviving are his widow, Shelby; his father of Columbus; five sons, Joseph, Francis R., Jr., Richard, David and Randall, all of the home; a daughter, Jean of Hebron; three brothers, Henry of Hialeah, Fla., Arnold and Eddie, both of Columbus; three sisters, Mrs. Delores Ruckdeschel of New York City, Mrs. Eleanor Conklin of Anderson, Calif., and Mrs. Willie Mae Harvath of Ashland.
The body was taken to the Estadt Funeral Home in Caldwell where friends may call and where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.


Randall Lewis Miller

Obituary from the Zanesville Times Recorder, page 2-A, 14 Aug 1973:
CALDWELL CHILD DIES OF BURNS
CALDWELL - Randall Lewis Miller, 5, of Caldwell Route
4 died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday in Shriners Burn Hospital in Cincinnati
from severe burns he sustained in an accident that occurred Aug. 8
when he was camping out with other children near the home.
He was a son of Mrs. Francis (Shelby) Showalter Miller
of Caldwell Route 4 and the late Francis Miller, who was killed in a
tractor accident Sept. 7, 1969. He was born June 17, 1968 in Guern-
sey County and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church at Fulda.
Survivors include in addition to his mother; a sister Jean,
and four brothers, Joseph, Francis Jr., Richard and David, all of the
home; grandparents, Adam Miller of Columbus and Mrs. Lucille
Showalter of Chauncey.
A concelebrated Mass of the Angels will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday in St. Mary's church with Rev. Fr. Walter Heinz officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in Estadt Funeral Home
here where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
