The following wedding announcement appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on October 12, 1959: FULDA CHURCH IS SETTING FOR FULTON-NAU CEREMONY The St. Mary's Catholic Church Fulda provided the setting for the Saturday marriage of Miss Rita Nau and Gene Fulton. The rites were solemnized at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Fr. J. J. Donaldson following a program of music by Mrs. Otto Miller, church organist, and Howard Nau, brother of the bride. the selections included Ave Maria, Mother At Your Feet We Are Kneeling, and On This Day. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Nau of Dexter City. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fulton of Whipple are the parents of the bridegroom. The bride wore a floor length gown of white rose point lace and silk tulle over white bridal taffeta. The molded bodice featured a round scooped neckline edged with appliqued roses of lace embroidered with seed pearls. The long, tight-fitting sleeves tapered to points over the hands. The lavishly full skirt which billowed over a petticoat of deep ruffles was enhanced with an overskirt of scalloped tiers of rosepoint lace and tulle ruffles to the hemline. The former Miss Nau carried a cascade arrangement centered with a lavender orchid. Stephanotis surrounded the bouquet from which fell a shower of ivy and satin ribbons. Miss Ramona Nau was maid of honor for her sister. She was attired in an emerald green satin dress cut with a sculptured bodice featuring a Nina Ricci collar with a rose of the Material at the deep V-neckline. Soft unpressed pleats formed the simple lines of the skirt. The honor attendant carried a colonial bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums surrounded by yellow pompons. The arrangement was tied with bronze satin streamers. Bridesmaids Miss Kathy Sabatino of New Lexington and Mill Ruth Saling of Dexter City, cousin of the bride, wore dresses which duplicated the style of that wore by the maid of honor in a shade of topaz. Their bouquets were of yellow Fuji mums tied with yellow satin ribbon. Ernest Fulton of Elyria, uncle of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ushers were David Urb of Marietta and Elwood Pilcher of Dester City. Following the wedding a dinner for invited guests was served in the church hall where the reception was held during the afternoon. Aides were the Misses Mary Singer of Columbus, Irene Walter of Marietta and Norma Jean Schott of Caldwell. The Polka Jems of Pleasant City provided music for a community round and square dance held during the evening. The former Miss Nau until a short time preceding her marriage was employed as a registered nurse on the staff of Good Samaritan Hospital where she was graduated from the School of Nursing. She is a member of the church in which she was married. Mr. Fulton is a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He graduated from Lower Salem High School in St. Louis. The bridegroom is employed by the Central Ohio Tractor Company in Columbus where he and his bride will live at 809 Kellner road when they return from a wedding trip to Virginia.

Mary Ann Shondrick

Mary Ann Nau, age 63, of Pleasant City, Ohio, died Friday, September 26, 2008, at her home. She was born December 9, 1944, in Noble County, Ohio, daughter of Ruth Ann Buckley Shondrick of Caldwell and the late John Michael Shondrick. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School and the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Zanesville, and she attended Capital University to become a nurse practitioner. She was a registered nurse with the Noble County Health Department for over forty years, and she retired as a nursing supervisor. Mrs. Nau was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell and its Catholic Women's Club. She was a member of the Noble County Extension Advisory Committee, and she was a 4-H advisor for many years.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by one brother, John William Shondrick.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Robert W. Nau, whom she married May 8, 1965; one daughter, Pamela L. (Michael) Thompson of Pleasant City; two sons, William D. Nau (fiance Kathy Springer) of Pleasant City and Stephen M. (Denise) Nau of Byesville; one sister-in-law, Patricia Shondrick of Barberton; five grandchildren, Brittani E. Nau, Jordan R. Nau, Stephen M. Nau, Jr., Heather A. Thompson, and Hope R. Nau; two-step-grandchildren, Kelsey D. Spires and Linsey N. Spires; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture Service will be observed at 7:30PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be observed Monday, September 29th at 10AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, with Rev. Fr. Wayne Morris as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Miss Patricia Nau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Nau of Dexter City and Lewis R. Lang, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis J. Lang of Marietta Route 2, were married April 1 in St. Mary's catholic church in Fulda.
Rev. Charles Highland officiated.
Miss Romona Nau, sister of the bride, and Fred Becker, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, attended the couple. Ushers were Greg Gerber and Dennis Lang, cousin of the bridegroom.

Elaine June Briggs

Elaine June Pilcher, age 54, of Dublin, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007. She was born October 24, 1953, in Zanesville, Ohio, daughter of Eleanor J. Kuntz Briggs of Caldwell and the late Don C. Briggs, who died in 1970. She was a 1971 graduate of Caldwell High School and a graduate of Bliss Technical Institute of Columbus. She was a billing coordinator for Safelite Auto Glass in Columbus, and she was a Christian, having been baptized at the First Baptist Church in Caldwell. She was a loving daughter, mother, friend, and companion. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughters, Emily J. Pilcher (fiance Josh Click) of Ashland, Kentucky, and Ericka J. Pilcher of Ft. Collins, Colorado; her life partner, Glenn W. Seabloom of Dublin; one sister, Marilyn (Tom) Courson of Columbus; three brothers, Ron L. (Lois) Briggs of Caldwell; Gary D. (Barbara) Briggs of Naperville, Illinois, and Fred (Susan) Briggs of Westerville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Friends may call Friday, November 9, 2007, from 4-8P.M. at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where the funeral service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 11A.M. with Pastor Gary Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Cemetery.
