Marguerite Mullen Noll

Marguerite Noll was a contestant in the "Miss Noble County" beauty parade held in the Roxy Theater in Caldwell on 22 Jul 1938. According to the Zanesville Times Recorder (pg 7, 23 Jul 1938) between eight and nine hundred people crowded the theater to watch the pageant, which was won by Thelma Smithberger.

The couple’s wedding announcement appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 19 Sep 1941:
MARGUERITE NOLL WEDS HARRY YONTZ AT COLUMBUS
CALDWELL, O. - Mr. and Mrs. Ben Noll are announcing the
marriage of their daughter, Marguerite, to Harry Yontz, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yontz of Belford street.
The wedding was solemnized Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St.
Thomas church, Columbus, with Rev. Fr. H. A. Estadt officiating
at the nuptial mass.
The bride wore a blue street length frock with matching
accessories. The only attendants were Joseph Yontz, brother
of the bridegroom, and Miss Twila Estadt of Caldwell.
Following the ceremony the young couple left for a short
wedding trip. Mrs. Yontz is a graduate of the Caldwell high
school and has been employed at Elswick’s insurance office
for the past several years.
Mr. Yontz is also a graduate of the Caldwell high school,
and is now stationed at Camp Shelby, Miss.
Those attending the wedding from Caldwell were Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Noll, Mrs. Matilda Noll, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yontz and
Joseph Brister.


Thomas Yontz

An account of the accident that took Thomas Yontz’s life appeared in the Newark Advocate on 5 Feb 1962:
CARS CRASH SHOUTH OF ZANESVILLE;
FOUR DIE, THREE INJURED
ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) - A car heading north carrying four
Ohio State University students back to school after a weekend
home . . . A car heading south bringing four Caldwell women
back to their homes. . .
The two met headon on Ohio 146 about 15 miles southeast
of here Sunday night. The result - four deaths and three persons
hospitalized. One youth escaped uninjured.
Killed were Thomas Yontz, 18; Miss Louise Clark, 50; her sister,
Inez, 55, and Mrs. Hattie Wile, all of Caldwell.
In Bethesda hospital here are Richard Yoss, 18, of Woodsfield,
driver of the car carrying the youths; Phillip Yontz, twin brother of
the teen-ager killed and Miss Thelma Rice, 60, of Caldwell.

Thomas Yontz’s obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 6 Feb 1962
Services for Thomas Yontz, 18, of Caldwell Route 2 will be
held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philomena Catholic
Church, Caldwell.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Estadt Funeral
Home in Caldwell. Friends may call any time. Burial will be
in Mount Olivet Cemetery at Caldwell.
Yontz, a son of Harry and Marguerite Noll Yontz was born
Sept. 7, 1943, in Norfolk, Va., while his father was serving in
the Army.
He had graduated from Caldwell High School in May and
was a freshman at Ohio State University. Yontz was a member
of the football team while he was in high school.
Surviving in addition to the twin brother, Philip, are a sister,
Elaine of the home and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Yontz of Caldwell.


Harold J. Noll

In 1920, 23 year old Harold Noll lived on Seddon Avenue in North Braddock with his parents and younger sister. Harold was employed as a clerical worker for a wholesale firm.

Helen Noll

In 1930, 21 year old Helen Noll lived on Seddon Ave. with her parents and older brother. Helen was employed as a book keeper in a retail dry goods store.


John Joseph Ruppel

Records conflict on place of birth: The 1900 census states that John was the only child in his family born in Pennsylvania. Supporting this is the fact that John is the only child in the family for whom no baptism record exists at St. Mary's in Fulda Ohio. According to the 1920 census, John was born in Ohio.

In 1920, 28 year old John Ruppel lived at 5422 Bassert Street, Pittsburgh, PA with his wife Eva (30) and sons Herman (4 yrs 7 mos), Paul (2 yrs 10 mos), and John (10 mos). John Ruppel was employed as a laundry truck driver.

Eva M. Hohman

The 1920 census shows their address to be 5422 Bass Street, Pittsburgh, PA. Eva is not listed as a surviving child in her mother's 1936 obituary.
