SUMMERFIELD -- Charles L. "Les" Brown, 67, of Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, formerly of Summerfield, died Saturday (March 28, 2009) at Southeastern Med, Cambridge. He was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Woodsfield, son of the late Charles H. and Ethel Dunn Brown. Mr. Brown was a retired mechanic and a member of the U.S. Army Reserves in New Martinsville, W.Va. He was Protestant by faith.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Brown.

He leaves four daughters, Shari (Brian) Miller of Sarahsville, Marcia "Kay" (Brian) Kuhn of Lewisville, Denise (Tim) Miller of Summerfield and Victoria (Joshua) Leake of Byesville; a son, Scott (Marcia) Brown of Sarahsville; four sisters, Patty Thompson of Woodsfield, Kathy Couch of Byesville, Connie Brown of Byesville and Cheryl Murphy of New Concord; four brothers, Jerry Brown of Summerfield, Bob Brown of Caldwell, Mike Brown of Byesville and Kevin Brown of Sarahsville; nine grandchildren, Zach, Derek, Jacob and Nicholas Miller, Kristy, Dustin and Morgan Kuhn, Dylan and Blair Brown and Addysyn Leake, an expected grandchild in May; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brubach-Watters Funeral Home, 202 Main St., Summerfield, where services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Nate Gibbons officiating.
