In 1900, newlyweds Jacob (43) and Minnie (23) Eisman owned a home at 725 Seventh St. in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Jacob, who worked as a plumber, was one of only two people on that page of the census for whom the month and year of birth was not recorded. Jacob and his parents were natives of Ohio.

By 1910, Jacob (52) and Philomena (33) Eisenman had moved to Columbus, Ohio, where they owned a mortgaged home at 61 Lorain Ave. Jacob worked as a gas fitter for a pipe line company. According to the 1910 census, Jacob was born in Ohio, but his parents were from Pennsylvania. Philomena had not given birth to any children.
