John Charles Ruppel

In 1900, 19 year old John Ruppel lived and worked on his parents farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

By the time of the 1910 census, brothers John (28) and Fred (26) Rupple had travelled far from home. They were listed as joint heads of households on a rented grain and stock farm in Post Twp., in Allamakee County, Iowa.

In 1930, John Ruppel (48) and his wife Josephine (53) owned a farm in Canoe Twp., Winneshiek Co., Iowa. Living with them were their children Clarence L. (17) and Florence (15), both of whom attended school. Everyone in the home was a native of Iowa except John. Josephine's parents were from Ireland. The family owned a radio set.

John still lived in Iowa at the time of his mother's death in 1934. His brother had returned to Ohio.

Obituary:

Clarence Rupple, age 86 of North Canton, OH., died early Wednesday morning
at Windsor Medical Center following and extended illness. He was born in Fulda,
OH., on June 23, 1916 where he attended Fulda High School. He had worked for
the Timken Company for a short time and was later self-employed in the gas
business, retiring in 1981. He has a passion for music and played in the Clinton
Band.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Rupple of Canton; his
daughter, Judy Rupple who died in 1967; and his brothers, Frances, Carl and Bill
Rupple of California; and his sisters, Alice Eckroate of Massillon, Lillian Hupp
of Louisville and Esther Risher of Canton. Survivors include his wife, Vera Rupple
of the home; his brothers, Herman Rupple of Massillon and James Rupple of Canton.
There are many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Reed Funeral Home
with Rev. Raymond L. Tucker officiating. A private burial of ashes will take place
in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Herman Joseph Rupple

Obituary:

Herman J. Rupple, age 84, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Herman was born Sept. 7, 1920 in Noble County, OH to the late Joseph and Mary (Hupp) Rupple. Known as "Herm" he was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Air Corp in the 50 1st Bomb Group, 41st Squadron. Herm attended Jackson Twp. High School and North Carolina State College. He served as the president of the Louisville Chapter of the Lions Club and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose, Eagles and United Commercial Travelers Clubs. He was a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville and a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Canton. Herm was a retired Car sales Representative from Holland Pontiac in Massillon. He was an avid card player and enjoyed debating politics. Survivors include his present wife of 20 years, Evelyn, know as "Babe" (Sigler-Morris) Rupple; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Dale Rupple and Becky, of Louisville; daughters and son-in-law, Carol and Jim Grandfield of Arizona, Joyce Doane of Canton; stepchildren include Jeff and spouse, LeAn Morris of Delroy, Lauress Morris of Canton, Emie Morris of Massillon; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; a brother, James Rupple and wife, Barb of Canton; two sisters-in-law Miriam and Lupe Rupple of California. Herm was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther (Samblanet) Rupple; great-granddaughter, Emily Nichole Doane; brothers, Carl, Clarence, Francis and William; sisters, Lillian Hupp, Alice Eckroate and Esther Risher; stepdaughter, Barb Morris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. Ken Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville.


Esther M. Samblanet

Obituary:
Esther M. Rupple, age 57 of 7444 Brookside St., NE Louisville, passed away Thursday afternoon [1 Oct 1979] at her home following an extended illness.
Born in Louisville March 15 1922, she was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar and Rosary Society, and the Ostomy Club.
She is survived by her husband, Herman J. of the home, her parents, Vince and Florence Samblanet of Louisville, 2 daughters, Mrs. Louis (Carol) Knight of Englewood, Colo., and Mrs. Byron (Joyce) Doane of Canton; 3 sisters, Mrs. Tim (Ruth) McDonald of Louisville, Sister Grace Marie of Azusa, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas (Alice) Vignus of North Canton; 3 brothers, Paul of North Canton, Robert and Joseph, both of Louisville, 6 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at 10:30 in St. Louis Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Friends called at the Paquelet Funeral Home Sunday. St. Ann’s services were held at 6:45 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, her favorite charity was the American Cancer Society.
