Obituary:
Lorraine (Laurie) Anne Zwick Doettger, 41, of Bryson City, North Carolina passed
away Sept. 24, 1997 following an automobile accident.
Born Aug. 24, 1956, the sixth daughter of Roseanne and Joseph of Louisville, she
was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, attended Miami University and
American University. Currently she was manager for The Great Outdoors Store, a
division of the Nantahala Outdoor Center in the Smokey Mountains. She was a former
buyer and manager at Zwick’s Dept. Store.
Preceded in death by her sister JoAnne. Survived by loving husband Kurt, parents
Roseanne and Joseph Zwick, sisters and brothers-in-law Janet and Paul Harold, Jean and
Paul Sherrett, Mary Ellen and Scott Danals, Sue and John Stipe, Cassie and Steve Metzger;
brothers and sisters-in-law Joel and Kim Zwick, and Mark and Susan Zwick. Favorite aunt
to Alan, Chrissie and Elizabeth Harold, Katie and Lauren Metzger, Zachary Stipe, Evan
and Melia Danals, Christian and Sara Zwick, and Erin Rose Zwick.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Church with
Monsignor Frederick Slaven officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her
favorite charity, PAWS (animal shelter) P.O. Box 1814, Bryson City, NC 28713 or West
Swain Volunteer Fire Dept.; P.O. Box 117, Almond, NC 28702.
