Edward Carl Schockling

Obituary:

Edward C. Schockling, age 81, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at his home. He was born January 1, 1927, on his family's farm near Fulda, Ohio, son of the late William and Lucy Schockling. He was a 1945 graduate of Caldwell High School, and while in high school, he enlisted in the Army. He was a World War II Army veteran. He retired from Central Ohio Coal Company in 1991, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the United Mine Workers, a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, and he had been a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. He enjoyed farming, and spending time with his family, friends, and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andrea Layne Massaro; two sisters, Eileen and Evelyn Schockling; and one brother, Ralph Schockling. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn A. Archer Schockling, whom he married January 19, 1954; his children, Joe (Marilyn) Schockling, John Schockling, Ann (Tom) Michel, and Barbara (Angelo) Massaro, all of Caldwell; two sisters, Lola Geldmacher of Lewisville and Betty Trinquero of Rockville, Maryland; one brother, Harold (Margaret) Schockling of Caldwell; six grandchildren, Matthew (Kathy) Schockling, Laura, Aaron, and Shawn Michel, and Mark and Morgan Massaro; and one great-granddaughter, Mikayla Lee Schockling. Friends may call Friday, March 28, 2008, from 2-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell, where a Christian Scripture service will follow visitation at 8PM. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Saturday, March 29th at 10AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, with Rev. Father Thomas Hamm, Jr. as celebrant. A military graveside service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Caldwell, conducted by the Noble County Veteran Services Organizations

Amelia and Lucy Craft spent a few days with their sister,

Amelia Rose Craft Cox's obituary appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on November 10, 1973.
Mrs. Amelia Rose Cox, 78, formerly of Sarahsville Route
1, mother of a Zanesville man, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday in
Summit Acres Nursing Home at Caldwell after a long
illness.
She was born April 9, 1895, in Noble County, a
daughter of Edward and Mary Noll Craft.
Mrs. Cox was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church
at Fulda and its Catholic Womens' (sic) Club.
Survivors include a son, Hugh Edward Cox of 916
Eppley avenue, two grandsons; a brother, Albert Craft of
Louisville; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Schell and Mrs. Lucy
Archer, both of Caldwell route 1.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and
Sunday at Estadt Funeral Home in Caldwell where
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fulda with
Rev. Fr. Walter E. Heinz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery.

Norbert Joseph Michel

Obituary:
Norbert J. Michel, age 72, of Louisville, loving husband father, brother and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 1999 at his home following a courageous three year battle with cancer. Norbert was born June 24, 1926 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Carl and Lillian (Frank) Michel. He was the owner and operator of Michel’s Service Station and Garage until his retirement in 1988. Norbert was an army veteran of WWII and a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Harrisburg. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the F.O.E. Louisville Aerie #2374.
Norbert leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Mary (Frank) whom he married September 9, 1950; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Katherine Michel of Walingford CT, Dianne and Patrick Loomis of Hamburg, NY, and Jennifer and Stephen Coon of Louisville; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Patrick R. Michel of Pickerington, OH, Philip and Patricia Michel of Sylvania, OH, Edward and Barbara Michel of Canton, MI, and Alan and Michelle Michel of Massillon; a sister, Miriam Schillig of Marblehead, OH; nine brothers, Virgil of Louisville, Bernard of Canton, Richard of Louisville, Thomas of Carrollton, Robert of Canton, Charles of N. Canton, Vincent of Minerva, Terrence of Louisville, and Mark of Canton; and fifteen grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Jane Cuenot, and a brother, Ted Michel.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday June 26 in Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harrisburg, with Rev. Fr. William Kraynak officiating. Friends called Friday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home where the Catholic Order of Foresters services were conducted. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Mary Church or the Aultman Hospice Program.

Bernard L. (Bud) Michel, age 78, of North Canton, died Saturday
