Rosa Miller

Records conflict on year of birth: Jul 1879 (1900 census), 1884 (1910 census), 1 Jul 1880 (Snider).

Rose Miller is listed with her parents' in the 1910 census, although her age is given as 25 (not 30). Her daughter Milde Marian Miller is not included in the household.


Sebastian Estadt

In 1900, 30 year old unmarried Sebastian Estadt lived and worked on his parents' farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio.

At the time of the 1920 census, widower Sebast Estadt (51) owned a farm in Enoch Township. Living with him were his daughter, Freda E. (5) and step daughter Mildred C. Miller (20). Neither girl attended school. Neighboring farms in the census belonged to his brother-in-law, John Schafer and Francis Brinkmeier.

In 1930, Sebast Estadt (62) lived on a farm worth $500 in Enoch Twp. with Mildred Miller (29), Freda Estadt (15), Joseph Miller (9), and a widowed 68 year old German-born farm hand named Victor Geard. Mildred Miller is identified as Sebastian's daughter-in-law (despite the fact that she is single), and Joseph Miller is identified as Sebastian's son. Adjacent farms in the census were those of Sebatian's brother Frank Miller, and Frank Brinkmeier.

Sebastian Estadt's obituary appeared in The Zanesville [OH] Signal on 15 Jun 1940:
Sebastian Estadt, 74, prominent farmer of near Dexter City, died at his home
Thursday evening. A life long resident of this county, the greater part of his life
was spent in the Fulda community, Enoch township. His wife died several years
ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Freda Walters of Troy; three brothers and one sister,
Mrs. Rosie McAtee of Macksburg; Henry Estadt and Frank Estadt, of near Dexter
City and John Estadt of White Cottage.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the St. Mary's Catholic church at
Fulda with Rev. Fr. B.J. Mattes officiating. Interment was made in the church
cemetery.

John Graser

On June 5, 1917, John Graser (27 - dob: September 23, 1889, pob: Lanacomning, Maryland) of 230 Homestead St., Pittsburgh, Pa registered for the military draft. John worked as a heater for the Carnegie Steel Co. in Homestead, Pa. He had a wife and 2 children. His physical description is given as: height: tall; build: stout; eyes: Brown, hair: dark.

In 1920, John (30) and Christina (33) Graser owned a mortgaged home at 21 Clover St. in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Living with them were their sons Joseph (8) and Edward (6), both of whom attended school. According to the census, John was born in Maryland, Christine in Ohio, and the children were natives in Pennsylvania. The census-taker recorded John's parents' birthplace as "United States." John was employed as a heater in a steel mill.

Ten years later, at the time of the 1930 census, John and Christina's house on Clover St. was valued at $7000. Their two sons still lived with them. Only Edward attended school. John still worked as a heater in a steel mill. The 1930 census stated that both of John's parents were natives of Maryland. The Graser family owned a radio set.

On April 27, 1942, John Graser (52 - dob: September 23, 1889; pob: Lonaconing, Maryland) of 21 Clover St., Johnstown, Cambria Co., PA registered for the military draft. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Co. in Johnstown. Edward Graser of 185 Garfield St., Johnstown, Cambria Co., Pa. is listed as the person who will always know his address. His physical description is given as: height: 5' 8"; build: 127 lbs.; eyes: Brown, hair: black; complexion: ruddy.


Christiana Miller

In 1900, 14 year old Christina Miller lived with her parents and siblings on the family farm in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio. She did not attend school during the previous year. Christina could not read, write, or speak English.


Benjamin Miller

In 1930, Ben (40) and Clara (31 Miller rented a home for $15 a month at 610 Sharon Ave. in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. Living with them was there son James J. (4 yrs 8 mos). Ben was employed as a house painter. He was a veteran of World War I. The Miller family did not own a radio set.

Benjamin Miller's obituary appeared in the Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on February 4, 1969. Benjamin Miller, 79, of 1226 Richards avenue, a retired painter, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday (Feb. 3) at Good Samaritan Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan. 17. A native of Noble County, he was born Sept. 15, 1889. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. A veteran of World War I, he belonged to DAV. He had lived in Zanesville 44 years. Surviving are two sons, James of the home and Lawrence of Columbus; and nine grandchildren. Friends may call at Hillis Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. rosary will be recited at 7:15 Wednesday at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Nicholas Church. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery.

The following appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on February 14, 1969: WILLS FILED The will of Benjamin Miller of 522 south Gray street, who died Feb. 3, left his estate equally to his two sons, James John Miller and Lawrence Francis Miller. James was named executor. The will was written April 8, 1947.


Clara Mary Estadt

Wedding announcement from The Zanesville Signal, pg 3, 11 Sep 1924:
CHURCH WEDDING AT FULDA, OHIO IS ANNOUNCED
Macksburg, O., Sept 11 - Miss Clara Estadt, sister of Mrs.
Anna Warren of Macksburg, and Ben Miller, of Zanesville were united
in marriage at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning in the Fulda Catholic church
with Rev Father Oiniew (sic) officiating, in the presence of the immediate
friends. Following the ceremony, the couple left for Zanesville, where
they will reside. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Estadt.

The following appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on November 22, 1948: REMOVED HOME Mrs. Ben Miller who recently underwent an operation in Good
Samaritan hospital has been removed to her home at 522 Gray
street.


Clara Estadt Miller was a resident of Muskingum County, Ohio at the time of her death. Her obituary appeared in the Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on December 7, 1966. Mrs. Clara M. Miller, 69, of 522 South Gray street died at 5 a.m.
Tuesday (Dec. 6) at Good Samaritan Hospital where she had been a
patient since Aug. 25. She had been in ill health for a year. A native of Noble County, she was born Sept. 4, 1897 a daughter
of John and Mollie Noll Estadt and had resided in Zanesville 41 years. Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Altar-
Rosary Society. Surviving are her husband, Benjamin; two sons, James J. of
1226 Richards avenue and Lawrence F. Miller of Columbus; two
brothers, Clyde Estadt of White Cottage and Edmund Estadt of Zanes-
ville Route 2 and nine grandchildren. The body is at Hillis funeral Home where friends my (sic) call
after 6 p.m. Wednesday.


Mildred Marian Miller

Also known as Milde (per Dolores Snider).

In 1920 and 1930, unmarried Mildred Miller lived on the farm of her widowed step-father, Sebastian Estadt, in Enoch Twp., Noble County, Ohio. In 1920, she was identified as his step-daughter, but in 1930, she was identified as Sebastian's daughter in law. There was also a 9 year old Joseph Miller in the home in 1930. Joseph was identified as Sebastian's son, but presumably, he was Mildred's son.


Maria Elizabeth Miller

Ten year old Maria Elizabeth Miller is not listed in either the 1870 or 1880 census in the household of her parents and brothers.

The 1900 census entry for Maria E. Miller Adelebera's mother, Mary A. Miller, states that three of her five children were still living in 1900. Mary's three sons are known to have died after 1900. Another daughter, Regina, died in infancy in 1869. If the census is correct, this means that Maria E. Miller Adelebera died before 1900.


Edward Miller

At the time of the 1910 census, Edward Miller owned a mortgaged house at 1716 Agnew (?) St. near the corner of Hartman Lane in Pittsburgh, PA. Living with him were his wife, Emma (32), and children Harold (7), Luella (4), Elmer (2), and Bernard (1 yr 3 mos.). Harold attended school. Edward and Emma had been married for eight years. Edward worked as a wagon driver. Living next door to the Millers was the family of widow Eva Smithberger Crock, a former resident of Fulda, Ohio.

In 1920, widower Edward Miller, age 41, lived in the house of his sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and John Hartman in Braddock, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Living with them were Edward's six children, Harold (16), Luella (14), Elmer (12), Bernard (11), Adrian (7), and Cletus (2 yrs, 4 mos.). All of the children except Cletus attended school. Edward was a motorman on the streetcar.


Emma Engel

According to the 1910 census, Emma had given birth to four children, all of whom were living. Emma's parents were born in Germany.


Harold Richard Miller

Harold Miller became a priest.


Elmer Lewis Miller

Elmer Miller entered religious service as a brother. He later left the order and married.


Bernard Robert Miller

Bernard Miller entered the priesthood.


Cletus Joseph Miller

Hugo John Antony

According to Dolores Snider, Gertrude Miller married "Prof. Hooker." Linda Kay Anderson says Gertrude married Anthony (surname unknown).

IIn 1900, 30 year-old school teacher Hugo Antony and his wife of 5 years, Gertrude, lived in Marion Twp., Mercer County, Ohio. Living with them were their children, John H. (3) and Caroline E. (1). The census indicates that another child died prior to 1900. According to the census, Hugo was born in Germany, as were his parents. Gertrude and the children were natives of Ohio. The census states that Gertrude's parents were from Pennsylvania. Hugo came to America in 1884 and was a naturalized citizen.

At the time of the 1910 census, Hugo J. Antony (40) and his wife Gerdie (35) owned a mortgaged home in Jackson Twp., Auglaize County, Ohio where they lived with their children John H. (13), Carolina M. E. (11), Anna R. (8), Alpha G. (3), and Charles Ed. (5 mos). The oldest two children attended school. All of the members of the household except infant Charles could read and write. Hugo was employed as a public school superintendent. Birthplaces were the same as the previous census except for Gertrude’s parents, who were said to be natives of Ohio.

In 1920, Hugo Antony (49) and Gertrude (44), rented a home at 420 East Main St. in Coldwater Village, Butler Twp., Mercer Co., Ohio. Also living in the house were their children John H. (23), Carrie M. E. (20), Anna R. (18), Alpha G. (13), Charles E. (10) and Mary E. (2). All of the children except Mary attended school. The census states that Hugo and his father were natives of "Rhineland East" and his German-speaking mother was from Alsace Lorraine. Gertrude and all the children were born in Ohio. The census states that Gertrude's father was from Pennsylvania and her mother was from Ohio. Hugo was a school teacher.

The 1930 census finds public school superintendent John H. Antony (60) and his wife Gertrude (55) owning a home worth $5000 at 415 South First Street in Coldwater, Ohio. Their three youngest children -- Alpha (23), Charles (20) and Mary E. (12) -- lived with them. Charles and Mary attended school. The family owned a radio set.


Clara Miller

Records conflict on death: Dolores Snider, in "St. Mary's -- 150 Years -- Fulda, OH" states that Clara Milker died a month after her birth in 1878 and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery (location of grave is unknown). However, Clara appears as a two-year old child in the 1880 census. In addition, the 1942 obituary of Clara's sister, Johanna Miller Brahler, lists Clara Gerden of Dayton as a surviving sibling.


Andrew Miller

In 1900, Andy Miller (26 - Sep 1873) and his wife of three years, Mary (25 - Dec 1874) rented a farm in Boston Twp., Belmont Co., Ohio. Living with them was their only child, Clara L. (2 - May 1898).

At the time of the 1910 census, Andy Miller (38) and his wife Mary M. owned a mortgaged farm on Hendrysburg Pike in Warren Twp., Belmonty County, Ohio. Andy and Mary had been married for 13 years. Mary had given birth to seven children, two of whom died prior to 1910. The five surviving children who lived in the household were Clara L. (11), Rosa F. (9), Mary H. (8), John M. (6), and Gertrude B. (1 yr 1 mo). Andy's occupation was given as "general farmer." Everyone in the household was a native of Ohio, as were their parents.

In 1920, Andy Miller (47) owned a mortgaged house at 532 West Main St. in Barnesville, Belmont County, Ohio where he lived with his wife Mary (45) and children Clara (21), Rosy (19), Mary (17), John (15), Gertrude (10), Leonard (7) and Anna (5). Mary, John, Gertrude, and Leonard attended school. Andrew was a self-employed dairy farmer.

In 1930, dairy farmer Andy Miller (57) still owned the house at 532 West Main St. in Barnesville. He lived there with his wife Mary (55), and children Mary H. (28), Leonard (17), and Anna (16). Only Anna attended school.

Mary Magdaline Reasbeck

MRS. MILLER DIES
BARNESVILLE -- Mary Magdelon Miller, 64, of 532 West Main street, who suffered a stroke while attending a wedding reception in Masonic temple Saturday night, died Monday morning at her home. She was the wife of Andrew Miller.
Born near Batesville on Dec. 29, 1874, she was the daughter of Martin and Hannah Van Meter Reasbeck. She was a member of the Church of the Assumption here and of the Altar society of the church.
Surviving are five children, Miss Mary Miller, Columbus; Mrs. Harry Fise, Wheeling; Anna, of the home; John M., of Wheeling; Leonard, of the home. One brother, John Reasbeck, Cambridge, and four sisters, Mrs. Rose Markey, McMecher, W. VA.; Mrs. Pete Reishman and Mrs. Leonard Reishman, both of Miltonburg, and Mrs. Ed Reishman, Barnesville.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Church of the Assumption with Father Tagg officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

In 1920, Rosy Miller (19) lived with her parents and siblings at the family's home on West Main St., Barnesville, Belmont County, Ohio. Rosy was employed as a cook in a restaurant.


Mary H. Miller

In 1930, Mary Miller lived with her parents and two younger siblings at the family home on West Main St. in Barnesville, Belmont County, Ohio. Mary was employed as a stenographer for a cigar factory office.

She was unmarried and living in Columbus at the time of her mother's death in 1938.


John Martin Miller

John Miller lived in Wheeling, according to his mother's 1938 obituary.
