Vernon W. Taylor

Obituary (from the Barnesville Enterprise):
Vernon "Woody" Taylor, 85, 815 North Chestnut St., Barnesville, died Thursday,
December 18, 1997, at the Barnesville Hospital. He was born in Barnesville on October
27, 1912, son of the late Arthur D. and Elsie Neibch Taylor.
He was a retired welder for the former Watt Car and Wheel Co., Barnesville, and mem-
ber of the Assumption Church of Barnesville. He was a 32nd Degree member of the
Knights of Columbus Council 5250 and a bingo volunter at Assumption Church for 32
years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Burkhart Taylor;
one brother Harold W. Taylor; and a granddaughter, Johanna D. Murphy.
Surviving are one son, Robert Taylor of Barnesville; a daughter, Mrs. John (Marilyn)
Murphy, Barnesville; and three grandchildren, Matthew Taylor, Barnesville; Amy D.
Murphy, Columbus; and Phillip Taylor of Salem.
Friends were received Sunday at the Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home. Mass of
Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church with Fr.
Charles Mascolino the celebrant. Christian Wake service was held Sunday at 4 PM in the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.


Hilda B. Burkhart

The marriage of. Miss Hilda Burkhart and Mr. Vernon
Taylor;both ofBarnesville, will be solemnized in the Church
of the Assumption Sat­urdaymorning, Nov. 13, at 9 o’clock,
Father Jerome Rojewski officiating. MissEleanor Brock-
neck of Columbus and Mr. Waiter Reischmn of this place
will be the attendants and immediately following the cere-
mony a weddingbreakfast will be served by the bride’s
mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Poulton,west of town.
The bride is a graduate of the Barnesville schools and
has been employedin Columbus recently. Mr. Taylor is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Taylorof North Chestnut street
and is employed in the elec­trical department ofthe Watt
Car Wheel Company. They will go to housekeeping in the
upstairsCook apartment on North Chestnut Street.

Walter J. Ackerman

Obituary:

Walter J. Ackerman, 79, of 33133 Skin Creek Road, Lewisville, Ohio, died November 5, 1999, at his home. He was born near Lewisville on February 6, 1920. He was a very active dairy farmer for many years and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, Ohio, where he had served on the parish council for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society and a 35 year member of the A. S. C. S.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Alberta Mae Stephen Ackerman, whom he married November 9, 1946; three brothers, George B. Ackerman, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Edward H. Ackerman, of Lewisville, Lester C. Ackerman, of Woodsfield; a sister, Leota Christman Buss, of Apple Creek; several nieces and nephews. Friends were received at Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, November 8. Funeral liturgy with Mass was celebrated November 9 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, with Monsignor Thomas C. Petronek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Miltonsburg. Vigil services were held November 8 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 35560 Miltonsburg-Calais Road, Woodsfield, OH 43793.

John Robert Gallagher

Obituary:
BARNESVILLE - John R. Gallagher, 57, of 229 West South street, Barnesville, a
former employee of the United Dairy Company, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in a
Cambridge hospital. Born Nov. 26, 1915, he was the son of William and Matilda
Ulrich Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher was a member of the Church of the Assumption, its
Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, and Disabled American Veterans. He was
a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Bonita McBurney Gallagher, a daughter, Mrs. Terry
(Helen) Neptune of Marion; a son, Joseph Gallagher of Westerville; two grandchildren,
two sisters, Mrs. Leo (Emma) Miller of Quaker City and Mrs. Everett (Grace) Pierce
of Barnesville; five brothers, Paul of Medina, Jacob, Herman, Henry and Dennis Gal-
lagher, all of Barnesville.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home here where the
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m.
Friday at the Church of the Assumption with Rev. Fr. John J. Reardon officiating. Burial
will be in the Church of the Assumption Cemetery.


Clarnece Richard Healey

Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
C. Richard (Dick) Healey, 71, of 61561 Roosevelt Rd., Barnesville, died Monday,
Oct 23, 2000 at Wheeling Park Hospital. He was born in Barnesville on November 13,
1928, a son of the late John William and Helen Lucille (Rosemond) Healey.
Dick was a retired installer for Western Electric , a veteran of the Korean conflict
serving in the Army, amember of the Assumption Catholic Church and he was active
in Barnesville Little League and Girls' Pup League Basketball. He was preceded in death
by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Nancy M. (Miller) Healey, Barnesville; one son,
Bryan Healey, Barnesville; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Lottie) Deal, Barnesville and
Mrs. Mike (Karen) Grigaitis, St. Clairsville; nine grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m at Campbell
Plumly Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
Thursday, October 26 at 10 a.m. at Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Virgil Reischman
officiating. Burial follows in Assumption Cemetery, Barnesville. Military graveside services
will be conducted by Belmont County Council of American Legion. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Barnesville Memorial Park or to the charity of the donor's choice.
