William Estadt operated the Estadt Funeral Home in Caldwell until shortly before his death.

CALDWELL - Emma Bernetta Estadt, 90, of 202 East St. died at 5:30 p.m. Friday (July 5, 2002) at her daughter's residence in Caldwell.

She was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Caldwell to James W. and Barbara Schockling McKee Ackley. She had lived in Caldwell her entire life. She graduated from Caldwell High School. She had owned and operated the Parkview Inn. She later operated the Estadt Store and assisted her husband at the Estadt Funeral Home for 53 years.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caldwell and the Catholic Women's Club. She had been active for many years with the Caldwell Band Boosters. She was known for her knowledge of events and people of Noble County.

She is survived by two sons, William J. Estadt and his wife, Carolyn, of Caldwell and John R. Estadt and his wife, Patricia, of St. Clairsville; one daughter, Barbara J. Archer and her husband, James H., of Caldwell; four grandchildren, Jessica Kittrell and her husband, Scott, of Pinehurst, N.C., Christopher J. Estadt and his wife, Renee, of Caldwell, Emma Jane Archer of Caldwell and Alicia J. Estadt of St. Clairsville; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Walker Grey Kittrell, both of Pinehurst; one sister, Mary Michel of Caldwell; one brother, James W. Ackley and his wife, Mildred, of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Estadt, on Nov. 23, 1983. They were married June 14, 1938. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Bridgman, Thelma Ackley and Mildred Ogle.

Funeral liturgy with Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caldwell with the Rev. Dale Tornes as celebrant. Burial is in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-McCurdy Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Catholic Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Noll entertained at dinner Monday evening at their home in Olive,
and covers were laid for Rev. Fr. H.A. Estadt of Columbus, Mrs. Laura Schweinberg of
Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Cecelia Tuma of Marietta, and Mrs. Joseph Estadt, Matilda and
Clarence J. Estadt and Miss Marguerite Noll, all of Caldwell.

WEDDING DINNER
[Caldwell] Guests for the wedding dinner of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. Estadt, who
were married Thursday at the St. Mary’s Catholic church in Marietta, included: Rev.
Father H. A. Estadt, and Miss Betty Simons, Columbus; Miss Matilda Estadt, Wash-
ington. C.H.; Mr. and Mrs. Leanderd Smithberger and Lester Smithberger, Lower Salem
route; Harold Smithberger, Medina; Miss Enid Hovey, Marietta; Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Smithberger, Welch, W.Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Estadt, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Estadt,
Mr. and Mrs. William Estadt, Mrs. James F. Hovey, and John D. Wheeler, Caldwell.
Immediately following the dinner, the couple left for a short wedding trip through the
east. Mr. Estadt is the former Thelma Smithberger. Rev. Fr. Estadt, brother of the bride-
groom, officiated for the single ring ceremony.

M. Marie ''Tilly'' Estadt Taylor, age 86, formerly of Hebron, Ohio, died Monday,
November 20, 2006, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell, Ohio. She was
born September 19, 1920, in Caldwell, daughter of the late Joseph and Matilda
Hupp Estadt. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Huntington College,
and she was a World War II US Navy veteran. She was a registrar for Ohio Dom-
inican College for many years, and a member of St. Thomas Apostle Church in
Columbus. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the father of her children,
James Brooks Taylor; one son, Thomas A. Taylor; four brothers, William, Clarence,
Frank, and the Rev. Harry Estadt; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Taylor. Surviving are one daughter, Yvonne (David) Ansel of York, South Carolina; one
son, Stephan A. Taylor of Columbus; seven grandchildren, Craig (Kandis) Cleary,
Joe (Angela) Cleary, Laura Reef, Monica (Steve) Redding, Laura (Ray) Payne,
Stephanie (Jermel) Carter, and Jade (Natalie) Taylor; eight great-grandchildren,
Kaitlyn, Brooks, Brandon, Brady, Cody, Madison, Logan, and Haley; and a sister-
in-law, Thelma Estadt of Caldwell. Friends may call Wednesday, November 22, 2006, from 4-8PM at McVay-
Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Friday,
November 24 at 10AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caldwell, with Father
Robert Borer as celebrant. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery, Caldwell, with
military honors conducted by the Noble County Veterans Services Organization.
