Francis H. Smith

Obituary
Francis H. Smith, age 71, of Canton, passed away Sunday afternoon, Dec. 12 at the Canton Regency Retirement Community following an extended illness.
He was born December 19, 1921 in Louisville, the son of the late John and Barbara M. (Crock) Smith. He was a former machinist for the Timken Company retiring after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Canton Council #341 and the Moose Loyal Order of Canton Lodge #233, and the F.O.E. Louisville Aerie #2374. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canton where he was an usher for 15 years, and he was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Sadie (Erwin) of the home, a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Renee of Canton; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob, both of Canton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alma M. Smith, and three brothers, Edward, August, and Carl.
A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church in Canton with Rev. Fr. Charles T. Poore officiating. Burial was in St. Louis Cemetery. Friends called Tuesday evening at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Louisville.

Brian F., and Jeffery C. Estadt; also three great-grandchildren: Nicole,
Jennifer and Joseph J. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the
Ronald V. Lucas Funeral Home Corner of Bell and Jones Avenues,
North Braddock 412-271-1361, where a Blessing Service will be held
on Saturday at 10:30 am.
