NATHROP, Colo. - James E. Schott, 68, of Northrop died Monday (May 13, 2002) at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 31, 1933, in Marietta to Carl V. and Cathrine Schott. He and his wife, Janet, moved to Nathrop in 1994, from Denver.

He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
Schott was employed by Public Service Co. as a mechanic, retiring after 19 1/2 years of service. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge. He also enjoyed doing odd jobs and being outdoors visiting with people.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Schott of Nathrop; one brother, Charles Schott and his wife, Jane, of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Susan Reed and Jane Ellias, both of Denver; three nieces; and seven nephews. From a former marriage, he is survived by three children and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services are at 1 p.m. May 26 in Nathrop with Pastor David Mason, a nephew, officiating. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery. Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida, Colo., are in charge of arrangements. It is requested by flowers and donations be omitted.
