Charles Edward Crum

From the Zanesville Times Recorder, 7 May 1940:
INJURED IN FALL OVER CLIFF
CALDWELL - Charles Crum, 10-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Cum, who reside on the Noble farm north of Caldwell, sustained a fracture
of the right leg close to the hip, Sunday afternoon when he fell over a high
cliff while playing with his dog, striking the pavement on Rt. 21 north of
Caldwell.
He was taken to the office of Dr. E. G. Ditch where first aid was given,
and then removed to Memorial hospital, Marietta.

The following wedding announcement appeared in the Zanesville (OH) Signal on Sep 9, 1953:CALDWELL -- Announcement is being made of the marriage of Miss Doris
Loop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Loop of Olive to Staff Sgt Charles E
Crum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence L. Crum of Caldwell. the marriage was
an event of Saturday, August 22. The double ring ceremony was performed
in St. Philomena rectory, with Rev. S.J. Pekalla officiating in the presence
of members of the immediate families. The couple is residing at Columbus.

Obituary:
BELPRE - Charles Edward “Charlie” Crum, 53, of 2312 Rockland Ave., Belpre,
died Friday morning [15 Feb 1985] in Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.
Born August 21, 1931 in Caldwell, a son of Thelma Schoeppner Crum of Belpre
and the late Clarence E. Crum, he was plant administrator for the Union Carbide
plant in Marietta, where he had worked for 30 years.
He attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Belpre and was a veteran of the
Korean Conflict. Mr. Crum was also past president of the Belpre Civitan Club,
president of the Squarenader Square Dance Club, and member of the American
Legion Post 64 of Marietta.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Doris Loop Crum; two sons, Ed
Crum of Belpre and Greg Crum of Athens; one daughter, Mrs. Chris (Debbie) Mehl
of Belpre; one brother, Richard Crum of Whipple; two sisters, Shirley Schockling of
Grove Port and Rosemary Crum of Pickerington, and a grandson.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home of Belpre where
services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with Father Norbert Connelly and the Rev.
William Scarborough officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery
in Belpre.
