WOODSFIELD - Mrs. Kathryn Yost, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kunkle, and
family, Akron, were recent guests of Mrs. Yost’s mother, Mrs. Joseph Haren.
They were accompanied by Mrs. J. G. Burkhart, who will visit relatives in
Akron and Cleveland.

Marriage record lists ex locality prior to marriage as Woodsfield, Monroe, Ohio. Given name also found as Catherine. When she died in 1962, she had 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.


John George Burkhart

John G. Burkhart, 83, of 300 South Sycamore Street,
Woodsfield, died Thursday morning, February 23, 1967,
at his home following a brief illness. He was bron January
20, 1884, at Ozark, Ohio, the son of the late Anthony and
Mary Burkhardt Burkhart.
Mr. Burkhart was a retired oil field worker and for the past
twelve years had been custodian of St. Sylvester's Catholic
Church, Woodsfield. He was a member of St. Sylvester's
Church and a member of the Holyl Name Society and the
Purgatorial Society.
Surviving are his wife, Stella Haren Burkhart; three sons,
Gervase H. Burkhart, of Mission, TX, Ambrose Burkhart of
Lincoln, NE. and Joseph Burkhart of Kernersville, NC; one
daughter, Mrs. Mary Dorothy Froehlich of the home; eight
grandchildren; one sister, Sister Mary Otto of Covington, KY
and two brothers, Otto A. Burkhart of Beallsville, R2, and
Laurence A. Burkhart of Wshington, DC.
A Solemn Reguiem Mass was solemnized on Monday
morning at 10 o;clock in St. Sylvester's Church with the Very
Reverend Monsignor Robert A. Brown as celebrant. Rev.
Albert Kunkel, of Cleveland, a grand nephew of Mr. Burkhart,
was deacon and Mr. Mark Froehlich was acting subdeacon.
The following dignitaries were present for the funeral Mass:
Very Reverend Monsignor William R. Wearsch, Rector of St.
John Vianney Seminary, Bloomingdale; Rev. Ronald J. Cox,
professor at St.John Vianney Seminary, and Rev. Joseph
Finan, Pastor of St. Joseph's Church, Burkhart. The Mass
was sung by the Sisters and student of St. Sylvester Church.
Burial was in the church cemetery with the Michener Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.

Urban Christian Haren

In 1920, 29 year old Urban Haren lived in a home that he owned at 516 Ritchie Ave. in the third ward of Akron Twp., Summit Co., Ohio with his wife Elizabeth B. (24) and son Robert J. (14 mos). Urban was employed as a rubber worker.

Urban Haren is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grave A, Section 11, Lot 28. Age at Death: 61 yrs. Funeral Director: Hummel. Time of death: 3:15 p. m. Home Address: 455 Hillwood Dr. Occuption: Engineer employed by B. F. Goodrich. SS # 291 - 01 - 1124. Services: St. Vincent's. Cause of Death: Coronary Occlusion
