A. J. Burkhard

In 1930, A.J. Burkhard owned a house worth $5500 at 116 Chicago St. in Fairmont City, Marion County, West Virginia. He lived there with his wife Catherine (34) and children William (9), Virginia (7), and John (3). William and Virginia attended school. A. J. was employed as a civil engineer for a tractor company.

Catherine

Researcher Mark Haren states that the second husband of Josephine Haren (1865 - 1939) was a man named Burkhard. Together, they had three children, William (1921), Virginia (1922), and John (1926). This seems unlikely, since Josephine would have been 61 when John was born.

In addition, a similar family has been found in the 1930 census: A. J. Burkhard, his wife, Catherine, and children William (1921), Virginia (1922) and John (1926). According to the 1930 census, Catherine's parents were born in the Irish Free State.
