Harry E. Wise

No record of Harry or Lillian Wise has been found in the 1930 census.


Lillian Margarita Singer

In 1910, 16 year old Lillian Singer lived with her parents at 2010 Greenfield St. in Canton, Ohio. She was employed as a stenographer in stamping work. In 1920, she was still living with her parents, and still employed as an office stenographer. She no longer lived with her parents at the time of the 1930 census.

Date of death (from Social Security Death Index) has not been proven.


Lewis J. Singer

In 1910, 13 year old Louis Singer lived with his parents and siblings in Canton. He did not attend school that year. At the time of the 1920 census, Louis was still living with his parents. He worked as a sheet steel catcher.

In 1930, 32 year old widower Louis J. Singer lived with his young son, his elderly parents, and his younger sister in his parents' home at 2010 Navarre Rd. SW in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. Louis was employed as a machinist in a bearing factory.


Lester E. Smith

There were several Lester Smiths living in Canton at the time of the 1930 census. However, only one in the right age bracket had a wife named Mary, and they lived around the corner and a block down from Mary Singer's parents. In addition, Mary's middle initial matches that shown in the 1900 census.

In 1930, 29 year old Lester E. Smith rented an apartment for $30 a month at 1353 Dueber Ave SW, Canton, Ohio. He lived there with his wife Mary C (29)., and their daughter Mary Alice (9 months). Lester Smith was employed as a dairy salesman. Lester was born in Ohio but he did not know where his parents were born.


Mary C. Singer

In 1920, Mary Singer lived with her parents and siblings in Canton, Ohio. She was employed as a stenographer.


John Y. Skala

In 1913, John Y. Skala, a tailor, lived at 812 South St. in Canton, Ohio. He was the only person with that surname in the directory.

In 1930, 47 year old John Y. Skala owned a house worth $10,000 at 305 Montrose St. NW in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. He lived there with his wife of seven years, Pauline (28), and their son John G.(6), who did not attend school. Although the Singer Family History refers to him as "Dr. Jack Skala," John Sr.'s occupation at the time of the 1930 census was a tailor for a merchant. His parents were born in Austria.


Pauline G. Singer

In 1920, Pauline Singer lived with her parents and siblings in Canton, Ohio. She was employed as a book keeper. Fifty-seven year old Pauline Singer Skala was a widow at the time of her death.


Norman L. Farwick

Norman L. Farwick was a veteran of World War I. Details of his service are as follows:

Mildred Singer

In 1930, 24 year old Mildred Singer lived with her elderly parents at their home at 2010 Navarre Rd. SW in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. Also living there was her widowed brother, Louis, and his young son. Mildred was not employed at the time of the 1930 census.

On 13 Jul 1950, The Coshocton [Ohio] Tribune ran an article on page 9 titled "200 Attend American Legion Auxiliary District Meeting." The lengthy article reported that Mrs. Norman Farwick of Canton had been appointed to serve on the Resolutions Committee at the department convention to be held in Cleveland.


Frank C. Farwick

Frank C. Farwick appears in the 1913 Canton City Directory. He resided with his wife Laura is 915 Erie, and he is employed by Farwick Brothers Groceries. Also at that residence are Arthur F. Farwick, student and Norbert L. Farwick, clerk. Joseph Farwick (husband of Agnes) also was employed by Farwick Brothers; he lived at 1126 Louis St. in Canton.

In 1930, German-born Frank Farwick (59) owned a house worth $9000 at 214 Claremont Ave. in Canton, Stark County, Ohio. Living with her were his wife Laura (57) and children Norman (36), Margaret (29) Mildred (27) Alban (25), Alcie (16), and Frances (13). Alice and Frances attended school. Frank immigrated to America as a child in 1878, and was a naturalized citizen. He was employed as an automobile jobber. Like many of their neighbors, the Farwick family owned a radio set.


Delancy

The 1910 census entry for Phoebe Bosold and her daughter Ethel Delancy states that Ethel's parents were born in Ohio.


Pheobe Jane Barnhart

The 1910 census states that Phoebe had given birth to four children, only one of whom (Ethel) was still living. Pheobe and her parents were all born in Ohio. The 1920 census, however, states that her father was born in Kentucky.
