William Theodore (Ted) Hartman and Helen Jane Zimmerman (Jane) Hartman lived in the apartment above the old S&S Shoe store on Braddock Ave. across the street from the Times Theatre.
Ted was the manager of the Times Theatre for a while and Jane worked the candy concession. After their son Bill was born Jane went back to work and the baby slept in the baby carriage behind the candy counter.

I got my first hair cut at Ralph's Barber Shop on Library Street in Braddock. Of course by that time Ralph was pretty much blind, my mom wasn't real impressed with the outcome. Nobody else seemed to notice, probably because he was the only barber in Braddock and all the guys had haircuts like mine.We lived in North Braddock about a block up the hill from Bell Avenue Elementary School where I attended kindergarten and 1st grade. Big house on the corner next to the alley with a big front porch. Earned my first scar and 4 stitched trying to walk the railing of that rascal. I learned to ride my first 2 wheeler in the alley. It was a brand new blue Schwinn. Got it for my 5th birthday. My dad had to bolt blocks of wood to the pedals because my legs weren't long enough to reach them.
Becky graduated with Honors on 31 May 1998 from Presentation High School, San Jose, Santa Clara Co. CA. She graduated with a degree in Biological Science, with emphasis on Neurology, Physiology, and Human Behavior on 16 Jun 2002 from the University of California at Davis, Davis, Yolo Co., CA.

MIDDLEBURG - Robert John Brotton, 72, of Middleburg died Monday morning (March 11, 2002) at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. He was born on Rado Ridge, near Middleburg, to William and Ida Fogle Brotton. A retired silo erector, he had worked for Advanced Silos and Marietta Structures. He was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Robert John Brotton Jr. of Middleburg; two sisters, Evelyn L. (John) Antill and Bonita J. Antill, both of Middleburg; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William "Jake" Brotton Jr. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell with the Rev. Helen Lewis officiating. Burial is in Rado Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
