Celestine A. Teufel

also known as Jack.

Frank J. Yontz

In 1920, Frank J. Yontz (32) and Mary E. Yontz (20) lived on the farm of 78 year old widow Mary M. Spangler in Summit Co., Ohio. Mrs. Spangler was identified in the census as the grandmother of the Yontzes. (In all probability, she was the grandmother of Mary Yontz, not Frank.) Frank and Mary were married, but the 1920 census does not indicate when the marriage occurred. Mary Spangler was a native of Germany, as were her parents. Her year of immigration was unknown. Frank was born in West Virginia, according to the census. His parents were from Ohio. Mary was a native of Ohio, as were her parents. There were no children in the household.

By the time of the 1930 census, the Yontz family had moved to 243 Spruce Ave., Jackson Twp., Guernsey County, Ohio. (They are misidentified in the census index as the Youtz family.) The household consistend of Frank J. (42), his wife Mary E. (30) and their children Bernard (9), Helen M. (5), and Alma R. (3). Frank worked as a house carpenter. Their home was valued at $1650.

Charles of Binghamton, N.Y., two daughters, Mrs. Helen McGuire of Bing-

Mary E. Spangler

Mary Spangler was enumerated twice in the 1910 census... once with her father, and a second time in the household of her grandmother.

Joseph N. Spangler

At the time of the 1900 census, widower Joseph N. Spangler (31) owned a home in Summit Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. Living with him was his infant daughter, Mary E. (7 months). Joseph's occupation was listed as "merchant." Joseph's widowed mother lived next door.

In 1910, Joseph N. Spangler (41) owned a farm in Malaga Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. Living with him was his wife of six months, Anna (40), children Mary E. (10) and Edward J. (5), and unmarried brother, C.J. (26). The census indicates that this is Joseph's third marriage, and Anna's first. Anna was a native of Pennsylvania; her parents were Irish.
