Nicolas Kuhn

Researcher Jo-Anna Wright shows that John Nicholas Kuhn b. 1842 as the husband of Florentine Baker and father of Leona, Louella, Tarcella and Mary Magdeline Kuhn. However, the 1910 census shows
Nicholas Kuhn, 38; farmer, married 11 years, first marriage for both
Flora Kuhn, 30
Leona Kuhn, 10
Louella Kuhn, 8
The age of Nicholas Kuhn doesn't match. It would appear that the husband of Flora Baker and the father of Leona and Louella is not John Nicholas Kuhn b. 1842. This may be Nicholas Kuhn b. c. 1873, son of John Kuhn b 1837 (brother of John Nicholas Kuhn-1842). If that is the case, then Nicholas Kuhn (1873) lived next door to his parents in 1910.

Mary Florentine Baker

According to the census, Florentine Baker's parents were born in Germany. Two of her three children were still living in 1910.

The following note appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 9 Mar 1938:

hart, who is improving from several months’ illness,
had as visitors Sunday Mr. and Mrs. John Larrick
and daughter Ila; Miss Mary and David Larrick,
Berne; Miss Leona Kuhn, George Baker, E.R.
Youtz and son, Gilbert, Summerfield, and Misses
Nellie and Matilda Kuhn, Lewisville.

Alexander Dominic Baker

Alexander is named "Ulric" in the 1880 census. Sources conflict on date of birth:
Jul 1878 -- Haren
6 Jun 1878 -- Hartley
6 Jun 1879 -- death certificate

In 1920, Alexander Baker (40) and his wife, Catherine (28), owned a farm in Franklin Twp., Monroe County, Ohio with their four children: John C. (7), Mary H. (6), Charles G. (4), and Carl L. (1), and Alexander's widowed mother, Elizabeth (76). The two oldest children attended school.

Katherine Marie Young

According to researchers Mark Haren and Betty Hartley, Katherine and her parents were from Prussia-Royal Ruiddlstadt, Germany. However, the 1920 and 1930 census both state that Catherine and her mother were natives of Ohio, and her father was from Michigan.

In 1930, 38 year old widow Katherine Baker and her children lived on the family farm in Franklin Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. Katheine's children were John C. (18), Mary H. (16), Charles G.
