Frank John Scheetz

In 1900, 14 year old Frank Scheetz lived with his parents and siblings in Youngstown, Ohio. He worked in a plaining mill and did not attend school.

Frederick Peter Weber

In 1850, 39 year old German born Frederick P. Weber lived in Centre Twp., Monroe County, Ohio with his wife Margaret (40) and children Helena (14), Frederick (11), Margaret (9), Louisa (6), Barbara (4), and Elizabeth (2). The oldest three children attended school. Frederick's farm was valued at $700. Adjacent farms in the census belonged to Jacob Snider and another Weber family consisting of a 59 year old Margaret Weber and a 19 year old Margaret Weber, both born in Germany (possibly Frederick's mother and sister).


Alexander Edward Burkhart

In 1910, Alexander (31) and Mary (28) Burkhart owned a farm in Seneca Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. They had been married five years, but Mary had not given birth to any children.

Burkhart, Mrs. John Kuhn, and Mrs. Joseph Kuhn were recent shoppers
in Summerfield.


Obituary (from Betty Hartley):
Mrs. Mary Burkhart, 88, Lewisville Rt 1., mother of Lewisville Postmaster Orville
Burkhart, died Friday, June 5 1970], following a brief illness. She was born April 15, 1882,
in Monroe County, a daughter of Elias and Mary Ulrich Kuhn. Her husband Alex E. Burkhart
died in 1960.
In addition to her son, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Robert Kale, Cambridge, and three
grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Friends were received at the Brubach Funeral Home. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Requiem Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Burkhart.
The Rev. Fr. Joseph Finan officiated; burial followed in the church cemetery.


Orville Alfred Burkhart

Obituary:
Orville Alfred Burkhart, 76 of 31174 State Route 78, Lewisville, (Burkhart Community)
died at 9:45 a.m. June 9, in the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born
near Calais on November 13, 1912, a son of the late Alex E. and Mary T. Kuhn Burkhart.
Mr. Burkhart was a former Postmaster at the Lewisville Post Office in Lewisville, where
he had served for 25 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Burkhart.
He was a US Army veteran, serving during WW II and was a member of the American Legion
Post #87 at Woodsfield.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Anna Cale of Cambridge, two nieces, Mrs. Dan (Deborah)
Tedrick of Cambridge and Mrs. Tom (Elaine) Szymaniak of Lore City, and one nephew, Greg
Cale of Cambridge; several cousins.
Friends were received at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, June 12. Mass of Christian
Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. June 13 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, near Lewisville, with
Rev. Samuel Soprano as celebrant. Burial followed in the church cemetery with full military rites
observed. Rosary devotions were recited at 7:30 p.m. June 12 at the funeral home.


Sylvester F. Burkhart

Sylvester Burkhart's obituary appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 26 Feb 1970:

LEWISVILLE -- Sylvester F. Burkhart, 86, of Lewisville
died at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday (Feb 25) at his home follow-
ing a long illness. He was born in Monroe County Nov 11,
1883, a son of George and Mary Yontz Burkhatt. He
worked for many years as a fireman at Ironton and moved
to Lewisville after his retirement.
Surviving are his widow, Elma Christman Burkhart, and
several nieces and nephews. His first wife, Angela Geswein
Burkhart, died in 1957.
Friends may call at Brubach Funeral Home in Summer-
field 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph
Catholic Church in Ironton with Fr. Joseph Finan officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Ironton. Rosary
will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.
