Richard Andrew Harmer

The following article appeared in the Zanesville Signal on 22 May 1931:
CHILD APPEARS BETTER
Richard Harmer, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis
Harmer, 703 Dryden road, appeared to be resting well Fri-
day afternoon at Good Samaritan hospital from injuries
sustained Wednesday when hit by an automobile driven by
Ray E. Myer, 06 Hull street.


Betty J. Holdcroft

Wedding announcement from page 5 of the Zanesville Signal, 3 Mar 1947
Miss Betty Holdcroft, daughter of Mrs. Ray Holdcraft
of 408 Seborn avenue and the late Mr. Holdcraft, was married
to Richard Harmer, USN, 1-c, son of Mrs. Edna Gordon of
Santa Maria, Calif., on February 13. The wedding was per-
formed in the Pilgrim Evangelical and Reformed church with
the Rev. William von Brauchitsch officiating.
The former Miss Holdcroft is employed in the traffic
department of the Ohio Bell Telephone Company.
Mr. Harmer attended Zanesville schools before
moving to California. He has returned to Bremerton, Wash.,
where he is stationed aboard the USS Shangri-La.


Tim Lee Harmer

Birth announcment published in the Zanesville Signal on 2 Oct 1948:
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harmer, 704 Chester St., a son,
at Good Samaritan Hospital, Oct. 2.


Margaret M. Freund

In 1920, Margaret Freund lived with her parents and siblings in Pittsburgh. She worked as a real-estate stenographer.


Ralph Ted Bunting Jr

A photo of the Bunting children appeared on 31 Jul 1960 in the Sunday Zanesville Signal in a photo spread titled "Kiddie Karavan Korner" accompanied by the following caption:
Christopher Lynn Bunting was 1 year old Friday
[29 Jul 1960]. His sister, Melanie Ann was 4 years old
June 11. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Bunting Jr., 621 Dryden road. Grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Bunting Sr. of 654 Spangler drive and Mr.
and Mrs. Douglas C. Sparkman of 623 Dryden road.


Donna Lee Ree Bunting

Donna Bunting was the ring bearer at the wedding of Vivian Havens and Glen Davis on 30 Jul 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio. (Zanesville Times Recorder, 1 Aug 1938, pg 7)

Donna graduated in 1949 from St. Thomas High School in Zanesville. Her second cousin, Fred Noll, was a member of the same class.

Engagement announcemnent from The Zanesville Signal, 15 Jan 1950:
Miss Donna Lee Ree Bunting’s engagement to
Pfc. William Russell Carpenter, USMC, is announced
today by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph T. Bunting of
654 Spangler drive. The prospective bridegroom is the
son of Mrs. Mabel Carpenter of Norwood boulevard.
Miss Bunting graduated at St. Thomas high school and
is a member of that church. She is employed at the
Essex Wire company. PFC Carpenter is a graduate of
Lash high school and is serving a three-year enlistment
with the United States Marines. He is stationed at Camp
Lejuene, N.C.

ZANESVILLE GIRL BECOMES BRIDE IN CEREMONY IN NORTH CAROLINA
The marriage of Miss Donna La Ree Bunting
to Pfc. William Russell Carpenter is announced by the
bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bunting of 654
Spangler drive. The double ring ceremony took place
Feb. 3 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic church chapel,
Camp Lejeune, N. C. before Chaplain A. Ll. Gendron.
Attendants to the couple were Mrs. Mabel
Lucas and Pfc. Donald Davis.
For her wedding the bride wore a light beige
suit with brown accessories and a corsage of American
Beauty roses. Mrs. Lucas wore a grey suit with brown
accessories and her flowers were white carnations.
After a wedding trip the Carpenters will reside
at 12090 Pine Ridge trailer park, Camp Lejeune, N. C.,
until Pfc. Carpenter receives his discharge from the
Marine corps where he is now serving a three year
enlistment. They expect to make their home in Zanes-
ville.
Mrs. Carpenter is a graduate of St. Thomas
high school and is a member of that parish. Until a
few weeks ago, she was employed at Essex Wire
company.
PFC. Carpenter, son of Mrs. Mabel Carpen-
ter, 2719 Norwood boulevard, attended Lash high
school. Before his enlistment, he was employed at
the Cussins and Fearn company.


Beth Ann Carpenter

Obituary:

Beth Ann Carpenter, week-old daughter of William
F. and Donna Bunting Carpenter of 3910 Northbrook
drive, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday [8 Feb 1964] at Chil-
dren's Hospital in Columbus, following heart surgery.
The infant was born Feb. 1 at Good Samaritan
Hospital.
Surviving, in addition to the paretns, are a brother,
Randy of the home, and the grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Bunting of 654 Spangler drive and Mrs.
Mabel Carpenter of Cambridge.
The body was taken to Byers Funeral Home where
friends may call.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday
in Mount Olives Cemetery with Rev. Father Meagher
officiating.


Darlene Ann Bunting

TWO HOSTESSESS HONOR AUGUST BRIDE ELECT
The William Carpenter home on North-
wood drive was the scene of a pre-nuptial party
Thursday evening when Mrs. Ralph Bunting, Jr.,
left, and Miss Alice Barker, right, entertained for
Miss Darlene Bunting with whom they are pictured.
Miss Bunting is to become the bride of George
Barker, a brother of one of the hostesses, on Sat-
urday, Aug. 17 in St. Thomas Catholic church. The
bride-elect is the sister-in-law of the other hostess
and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bunting of
654 Spangler drive. Mr. Barker’s parents are Mr.
and Mrs. Francis Barker of Oak drive.


Wedding announcement from the Zanesville Signal, 18 Aug 1957:
SAY NUPTIALS IN SATURDAY MORNING RITES
On Saturday morning Miss Darlene Ann
Bunting became the bride of George Martin Barker
in a ceremony which took place in St. Thomas Cath-
olic church. The mid-August bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph T. Bunting of 654 Spangler
drive. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs.
Francis M. Barker of 337 Oak street.
The principals recited their double ring
vows before the Rev. Father Durbin. The nuptial
background of green and white was furnished by
palm fronds and arrangements of white gladiolus.
Before the bridal party entered the church,
Miss Mary Flood presented a half hour interlude
of organ music as guests were seated by Ralph
T. Bunting, Jr., brother of the bride and Leland
Wickham, brother-in-law of Mr. Barker.
Bride Wears White
The bride, who walked to the nuptial
setting escorted by her father, chose a gown of
embroidered nylon styled along princess lines.
The bodice of the gown featured a V neckline
and the bouffant skirt fell ballerina length. The
bride’s fingertip veil was caught to a crown of
pearls and rhinestones. Her only jewelry was
matching rhinestone necklace and earrings,
a gift from the bridegroom. The wedding bou-
quet was a white orchid encircled with a crescent-
shaped arrangement of stephanotis.
Mrs. William R. Carpenter was matron
of honor for her sister. She was gowned in yellow
styled along princess lines. Her picture hat and
other accessories were also the same shade as
her gown. Mrs. Carpenter carried a bouquet of
yellow and white carnations.
Clusters of pink carnations enhanced
the pastel blue frocks worn by the bridesmaids.
Mrs. Ralph T. Bunting, Jr., sister-in-law of the
bride, and Miss Alice Barker, the bridegroom’s
sister.
Hold Home Reception
The afternoon reception was held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Carpenter,
Northbrook drive. Aides were Mrs. Stanley Sheck,
cousin of the bride, Mrs. Leland Wickham, Mr.
Barker’s sister, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Carl
Barker.
After the reception the newlyweds left
for a wedding trip to California. For traveling the
bride donned a black and white princess style
dress enhanced with the orchid from her bridal
bouquet. The Barkers will reside on Northbrook
drive when they return home.
The new Mrs. Barker is a member of
the church in which she was married. She is a
graduate of Rosecrans high school. The bride-
groom is a graduate of Zanesville high school.
He is a member of the South Zanesville church
of the Nazarene. Mr. Barker is self-employed
as an interior decorator.

Miss Evelyn Warner spent Tuesday night at the home of her aunt, Mr.
and Mrs. Lawrence Mallett.

From the Zanesville Signal, page 6, 17 Feb 1939:
Miss Evelyn G. Warner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred B. Warner of Berne, and Herman L. Gressel, son of Mrs. Helen M. Gressell of Zanesville, will be united in marriage Tuesday morning at the St. Michael’s Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. J. J. Donaldson officiating. A dinner will follow at the Warner home for members of the immediate families and a dance will be held Tuesday evening honoring this couple at the Cecelian Hall.
