Elias Henry Kuhn

In 1930, Elias H. Kuhn (46) rented a farm in Malaga Twp., Monroe County, Ohio. He lived there with his wife Fannie (39) and children Bernard (16), Mary (14), Katherine (11), Clyde (7), and Grace (1 yr 3 mos.). All the children attended school except Grace. The Kuhn family did not own a radio set.

Elias Kuhn was a resident of Burkhart, Monroe Co., Ohio at the time of his death.

BEALLSVILLE---Minster J.V.A. Traylor officiated at 2
P.M. services today at the Harper and Campbell Funeral
Home here for Mrs. Fannie Carpenter Kuhn, 72, of Woods-
field, who died at 3 P.M. Saturday in Barnesville General
Hospital after a long illness.Burial was to take place in
Beallsville Cemetery.Mrs. Kuhn was born June 3, 1891,
near Summerfield, to the late John R. and Harriet Smith
Carpenter.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Mary Reischman of
Woodsfield and Mrs. Kathryn Darby of Beallsville; two sons,
Bernard Kuhn of Woodsfield and Clyde W. Kuhn of Canton;
five sisters, Mrs. Maggie Mobley, Mrs. Lydia Reed, Mrs. Katie
Decker, Mrs. Mary Riley and Mrs. Hazel Rucker, all of Bealls-
ville; two brothers, Charles Carpenter of Iowa and Hobert
Carpenter of Shadyside; 18 grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren

Grace Kuhn is not mentioned in the 2001 obituary of her sisterm Mary Ann Kuhn Reischman, although other siblings (all deceased) are listed.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today for
Lucy Friday, 95, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Burk-
hart. Celebrant ws Fr. Samuel Soprano. Burial was
in Middle Church Cemetery, Lewisville. Mrs. Friday,
formerly of the Summerfield area, died Tuesday,
January 19, 1982 at Taylor's Health Care Center,
Lucasville.
She was born May 17,1887, the daughter of the
late John and Anna December Kuhn. She was a
member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Burkhart.
Her husband, Albert Friday, died in 1932.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs. John Kane of
Newark and four grandchildren. Five sisters and
six brothers are deceased. She was the last mem-
ber of her family of twelve.


Harman Gale Scott

According to an article in The Zanesville Signal on 10 Aug 1926, Harmony Scott of near Burkhart, Ohio was a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nauer of Kuhn, Ohio for a Crum-Nauer reunion. The relationship between Harmon Scott and the couple is not known at this time. See Frank Nauer for full text of article.

Harmon G. Scott, 83, of Route 1, Lewisville, died March 11 in his residence
following an apparent heart attack. He retired as a mail carrier after 46 years of
service and taught school in the Seneca Township area for several years.
Mr. Scott was born July 12, 1902 in Monroe County, the son of the late Frank
and Delia Brown Scott.
Surviving are his wife, Thelma L. Kuhn, who he married July 4, 1930; seven sons,
Franklin and Richard Scott, both of Columbus, Eugene, James, Jerry and Philip Scott,
all of Lewisville and Michael Scott, of the home; four daughters, Debra and Nancy Scott,
both of Columbus, Mrs. Byron (Janet) Johnson of Croton and Charlene Lambert of
Rocky River; and 15 grandchildren.
Friends were received at Neff-Brubach Funeral Home in Summerfield. Mass of
Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Burkhart with Father
Samuel Soprano as celebrant. Burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Burkhart.


Thelma Laura Kuhn

WOODSFIELD - Mrs. Lyle Weisend of the Lewisville road was hostess to
the members of the Dopey Dozen club at her home today. The day was spent
informally. Mrs. Weisend’s guests were Mrs. Arthur Kuhn, Mrs. Okey Ruble,
Mrs. Nick Marceralli, Mrs. Leander Kuhn, Mrs. Harmon Scoot, Mrs. Leland
Jackson, Mrs. Ward Bishop, Mrs. Raymond Carpenter, Mrs. Delores Burkhart,
and Mrs. Ralph Carpenter.

Thelma L. Scott, 88, 33736 State Rt 78, Lewisville, died Saturday, August 26,
1995 at her home. She was born at Kuhn, May 10, 1907, a daughter of the late
Simon T. and Clare M. Wiesend Kuhn.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville,
and a member of the Catholic Women's Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon G.
Scott; a daughter, Bonnie Scott; a son, Michael L. Scott; a brother, C. Herbert Kuhn;
three grandchildren.
Surviving are Franklin Scott of Westerville, Richard Scott of Columbus, Eugene Scott,
James Scott, Jerry Scott and Phillip Scott of Lewisville; four daughters, Charlene Lenser
of Rocky River, Janet Johnson of Croton, Debbie Scott of Westerville, and Nancy Scott
of Columbus; 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Firends will be received at the Brubach-Watters Funeral Home, Summerfield, from 2
to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church near Lewisville. Burial will follow in the Chapel
Hill Cemetery, near Lewisville. Vigil services will be today at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

William J. Arnold

The following announcement appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 29 Aug 1950:
MISS PICKRELL, BRIDE-ELECT, IS HONORED
Mrs. Gayle Plummer of Frazeysburg road entertained
last night with a bridal party for her sister, Miss Dorothy
Jean Pickrell, bride-elect of William J. Arnold. Miss
Pickrell was presented with a linen shower from the
24 guests.
Green and white decorations were used about the
home. Card games were in play and refreshments
were served.
Miss Pickrell and Mr. Arnold are to be married at 10
o’clock Saturday morning in St. Nicholas Catholic church.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pick-
rell of 1625 Sharon avenue, and Mr. Arnold is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arnold of 817 Shinnick street.
Mrs. Lawrence Staller, sister of the bridegroom, will be
matron of honor, and Mrs. Staller will be Mr. Arnold’s best
man. Bridesmaids are to be Mrs. William Near, Mrs. Paul
Kellar, and Miss Betty Pickrell, sisters of the bride-elect.
Ushers will be Bernard Toole, Raphael Yinger, and Paul
Kellar.
A reception is to be held from 2 until 4 o’clock in the
home of the bride’s parents.
Miss Pickrell is a graduate of Lash high school and
formerly was employed by the Ohio Bell Telephone company.
The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of St. Nicholas
high school. Both young people belong to St. Nicholas
Catholic church.
