Obituary:
Andrew Gump Chenevey, 86, of Alliance, died on Saturday, January 20, 2001 at11:25 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital, following a brief illness. He wasborn in Akron, on November 15, 1914 to Joseph and Josephine (Bresson)Chenevey and had lived all of his life in the Alliance area. A self-employeddairy farmer and truck driver, he was a member of Regina Coeli CatholicChurch, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Alliance Senior Center.Survivors include his wife Mary (Monter) whom he married on April 24, 1941;a daughter, Joyce Radalia of Canton; a son and daughter-in-law Thomas andKaren (Frank) Chenevey of Hartville; seven grandchildren; fivegreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Jane Beuhler and Agnes Palosi both ofAlliance, and Maxine Kress of Louisville; three brothers, John of Marlboro,Tom of Louisville and Jim of Walnut Creek, CA; and several nieces andnephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Frank Butch Fannin;a son-in-law Bill Radalia; a granddaughter, Christine Radalia; a sister,Mary Chenevey; his twin brother, Tony and a brother, Richard. A Mass ofChristian Burial will be held at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Thursday at11:00 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Manning officiating. Burial will follow atSacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Harrisburg. Friends may call atthe Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse andHospice, 885 S. Obituary:
Merton (Pee Wee) Kress, age 64, of 90 W. Main Street, Limaville, Ohio passed away at Alliance City Hospital, Tuesday June 4 after a six month illness. He was born in Louisville August 16, 1920 and lived in the area all his life. He was the son of the late John Kress and Erma Haidet. He was also [preceded] in death by a sister, Delores Emplit.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps during World War II and belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance and VFW #6730 Sebring. He retired in 1983 after 40 years as a Smoker at Homestead Provision.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret H. (Patrick) Kress of the home, 1 daughter, Mrs. Mark (Sandra) Haubert of Eaton Rapids, Michigan; 2 sons, Roger and David of Alliance; 3 sisters, Orilla Brahler of Louisville, Mary Carter of Alliance, and Rita Whitman of North Benton; 4 brothers, Richard and Norbert of Alliance, Delmar of Sebring and Francis of Louisville. There are 4 grandchildren.
Services were held Friday June 7, 10:30 a.m. at Sharer Sterling Funeral Home in Alliance with Father Frank Carsagna. Burial was in Memorial Park, Alliance. Friends called Thursday evening.
Dates of birth and death have not been proven. Mark Barhorst was a resident of Shelby County, Ohio at the time of his death.
