Claude Anthony Archer

According to his death certiicate, 32 year old widower Claude Archer's occupation was grocery clerk. His obituary appeared in the Zanesville Signal on 6 Dec 1937:
SERVICES TUESDAY FOR CLAUDE ARCHER
Funeral services for Claude A. Archer, 32, will be held at
9 o’clock Tuesday morning at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Mt. Olives
Mr. Archer died Saturday afternoon at the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Archer, 1726 Owens street,
following a long illness. He was a member of St. Thomas
Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are his parents and three daughters, Barbara
Ann, Jo Lee, and Betty Lou, all of the home., two sisters,
Mrs. Carl Sunkel and Mrs. Edward Emmert, and two brothers,
Raymond and Lloyd Archer, all of this city.
The body was removed to the residence Sunday from Keck
funeral home.


Mildred L. Kirby

IS SERIOUS
Mrs. Claude Archer, who has been ill for the past year, is now in serious condition at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Kirby, Fernanda street.

MRS. CLAUDE ARCHER SERVICES TUESDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Archer, 27, wife of Claude Archer, who died Saturday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis Kirby, 1044 Fernanda street, will be held at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olive cemetery.
Mrs. Archer was a member of St. Thomas church and was a graduate of St. Thomas high school in 1923. Surviving are her husband and three daughters, Barbara Ann, Joy Lee, and Betty Lou; her parents and four brothers, Francis Kirby of Price street, Ernest Kirby, Kelly street, and Bernard and Lawrence Kirby of the home and two sisters, Miss Isabelle and Miss Marguerite Kirby of the home.


Edward Joseph Emmert

At the time of the 1930 census, Edward J. Emmert (23) and his bride Adelaide (23) rented a home for $30 a month at 1208 Wheeling Ave. in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio. According to the census, the couple had been married about a year. Both were natives of Ohio, as were their parents. Edward was employed as a supply room clerk.

According to the Ohio online death certificate index (www.ancestry.com) Edward Emmert was a purchasing agent or buyer in the industry of "Blast furnaces, steelworks, rolling and finishing mills."


Adelaide Barbara Archer

Adelaide Archer Emmert’s obituary was published in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 9 Sep 1966:
Requiem mass for Mrs. Adelaide B. Emmer, 59, of 2120 Blue avenue will be sung at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Camillus Musselman officiating. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today Byers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be her sons, Edward, Thomas, John, Gerald, Bernard, David and Lawrence Emmert. Mrs. Emmert died Wednesday.


William Lloyd Archer

A photo of two-year old Billy Archer appeared in a photo spread titled "A Group of Attractive Children" in the Zanesville Signal on 13 Oct 1940 with the following caption:
William Lloyd Archer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Archer
of 599 Dryden road. "Billy" celebrated his second birthday
Saturday [12 Oct 1940]. His mother is the former Miss
Frances Merriam. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Archer and Mrs. George Merriam. His great-grand-
parents are Mrs. Hugh Merriam and Mrs. W. L. Bunting.

Mary Elizabeth Crock

The article excerpted below appeared in the Zanesville Signal on 8 Aug 1958:

SORORITY ENTERTAINS BRIDES-ELECT
Miss Patricia Pletcher and Miss Mary Elizabeth Crock,
brides-elect were presented with wedding gifts when members
of Phi Beta Psi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority entertained
last night at the home of Misses Carolyn and Barbara Hodgson
of 1975 Dresden road.
A pink and white color scheme was used to decorate
the home.
The wedding of Miss Crock and Jerry Lee Beckwith is
scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6. Miss Crock is the daughter of
Elmer A. Crock of 2348 Hoge avenue, and Mr. Beckwith is the
son of Vernon D. Beckwith, 1127 Putnam avenue, and the late
Mrs. Beckwith.

The Beckwith family lived in Zanesville in 1969. They were living in Scottsdale, Arizona by 1990.
