BICYCLIST, 15, HIT BY TRUCK
A 15-year-old Cumberland area youth was injured at 4 p.m. Tuesday
when he rode his bicycle into the path of a semi tractor-trailer rig, according
to the Highway Patrol at Cambridge.
Patrolmen said Chris Robert Lorey, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lorey
of Cumberland Route 2, rode his bicycle from Noble County Road 12 onto
U.S. 21 north of Belle Valley into the path of the semi driven by Marvin
Wood, 34, of Cambridge Route 3.
The youth was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital after suffering the
loss of his right eye, a broken pelvis and dislocated hip. The youth had been
blind in his right eye since the age of 2.
