Guidelines

Don't enter a common Fulda surname in the search engine... in most cases, you'll end up with too many results. For example, there are over 500 people with the surname "Hohman."  To search for a surname, use the Surname List.

Do use the drop down menu to specify the search logic.  If you enter the phrase Joseph Crum...

*       "Find any word" will find all pages that contain either the word "Joseph" or the word "Crum."

*       "Find all words" will find all pages that contain both "Joseph" and "Crum," although they might not be together. (For example, "Joseph Smith married Maggie Crum." would qualify.)

*       "Find exact phrase" will find all pages that contain the exact phrase "Joseph Crum."  However, it will not find "Joseph B. Crum."

Do refine your initial search.  When your search results appear, you can narrow down the field by searching for another text string within the results.

Do let Bill Vogler know if there's something you don't understand, or if you have any comments.

PLEASE NOTE:  The search page does not function properly due to the size of the database.  (It currently contains over 62,000 names.)  PicoSearch generously provides free search capabilities for websites up to a certain size.  Once that size is reached, there is a substantial fee.  The search engine only searches the first 36,000 names.
