Notes

Clyde C. Cunningham

In 1930, Clyde C. Cunningham (38) rented a home at 1125 East Wooster St., Bowling Green, Wood Co., Ohio for $30 a month. He lived there with his wife Gertrude (31) and son Orville (14). Orville attended school. Clyde and Gertrude were 23 and 16 years old, respectively, when they were married. Clyde was employed as an attendant in a filling station. Also living with the family was Clyde's unmarried sister-in-law Nellie D. Cunningham (24), who worked as a waitress in a restaurant. Nellie was born in Georgia; her parents were born in North Carolina. It seems likely that the census taker made a mistake in writing down Nellie's last name, and inadvertantly recorded the surname of the head of household.

A brief article appeared in The Zanesville Signal on 7 May 1938 (pg 2):
Noble county's first aid couse sponsored by the Red Cross orgainization has
been completed under the supervision of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Cunningham.
