Karl J. Morrison

On January 19, 1945, Karl J. Morrison enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio. According to his enlistment record, he was unmarried and had complete 3 years of high school. His enlistment was for the duration of the War or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law. The following appeared in the Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on January 25, 1945: Karl Morrison, who played with the Zanesville Dodgers during the first half of the 1944 season and coached the St. Nicholas reserve basketball team this winter, has been inducted into the armed forces.

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on April 9, 1951:
Morrison-Wagner Wedding Read In Toledo Church Miss Elizabeth Jane Wagner of Toledo and Karl Morrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen W. Morrison of 1229 Wheeling avenue, were married at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church in Toledo. A nuptial high mass followed the double ring ceremony. The bride wore a white lace-over-net ballerina length gown and a veil of illusion falling fingertip length. She carried white camellias. Mrs. Phil Miller was matron of honor. She wore a gown of shrimp lace over net with matching picture hat, mitts and shoes. She carried a bouquet of Johanna Hill roses. Bridesmaids were Miss Audrey Watkins and Mrs. Betty Clark. Their gowns and accessories were in teal blue and they carried American
Beauty roses. Donald Gay of this city was best man. Ushers were Ned Ervin and Bob Engle, also of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis F. Wagner, parents of the bride, entertained at a wedding breakfast at noon at Hillcrest hotel, and at a reception in the afternoon from 2 until 5 o'clock at the Playdium. The wedding couple flew to New York and from there will go to Bermuda. After April 23, they will be at home at 827 Dearborn street, Toledo. In addition to the bridegroom's parents, the best man and the ushers, attending from Zanesville were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marsh and Mrs. Donald Gay. The bride is a graduate of Whitney vocational high school and attended the University of Toledo. Mr. Morrison is a graduate of St. Nicholas high school in this city. Both young people are employed by the Sun Oil company.
