Kyle Morrison

The following wedding announcement appeared in the Times Recorder (Zanesville, OH) newspaper on October 13, 1973: Kyle Morrison Exchanges Marriage Vows With Timothy Rowland In ToledoChurch Marriage vows were exchange Friday evening in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Toledo by Miss Kyle Morrison and Timothy Rowland. The bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Karl Morrison of Oregon, a Toledo suburb, formerly lived in Zanesville. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Dean Rowland of Toledo. The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Clara Morrison Bronkar of 2020 Clay pike. The bride wore a floor length gown of white organza over peau de sore trimmed with reembroidered Alencon lace. The fitted slightly raised bodice was style with a high beaded lace collar and long full cuffed sleeves. Appliques of lace trimmed the bodice and encircle the waist above white satin ribbon. The A line skirt was styled with a horizontal applique of lace just above the lace edged hemline. She wore a lace Camelot headdress with chapel length veil bordered with lace. The bride carried a cascade of white Sweetheart roses, miniature pompons and stephanotis. Miss Debra Scothern and Mrs. George Horvath were honor attendants
and bridesmaids were Miss Kay Morrison, sister of the bride, Miss Susan Wagner, cousin of the bride, Mrs. Victoria Schmitz and Mrs. Kathryn Spears. Stacey Wagner, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. George Horvath was Mr. Rowland's best man and ushers were David Wolfe, Fred Rowland, brother of the bridegroom, John Rowland, cousin of the bridegroom, Cary Rasmussen and Scott Pope. The reception was held at Zenobia Shrine in Toledo. The bride is a graduate of Cardinal Strich High School in Oregon and is a member of the church in which she was married. She received training in radiologic technology at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon and is employed by the Medical College of Ohio Hospital in Toledo. Mr. Rowland attended Bowling Green State University and is a construction worker. The newlyweds will live in Oregon.


Leo Edward Miller

Obituary:
Leo Edward Miller, 92, of Tipton, Iowa, died October 13,
2006, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton, from compli-
cations of age. Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 17,
at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton. Burial is in St. Mary's
Catholic Cemetery, Tipton. There will be no visitation. Mem-
orials may be made to Cedar Manor Nursing Home and
Iowa City Hospice. Leo was born May 17, 1914, in Jones County, Iowa, the
son of Edward William Miller and Mary "Fray" Russell. He
married Catherine Buresh on January 20, 1942, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Tipton. He was a 1932 graduate of Mechan-
icsville High School and was employed as a farmer. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include daughters, Marjean Mente and hus-
band, Mike, and Marilyn Paul and husband, Chuck, all of
Tipton; sons, John Miller and wife, Linda, of Tipton, Larry
Miller and wife, Lynda, of Lake Delhi, Iowa, and Maury Miller
and wife, Gail, of Tipton; 14 grandchildren; five great-grand-
children; one step granddaughter; and one step great-grand-
daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary
"Fray" Miller, wife, Catherine "Kay" Miller on June 7, 2005, and

TIPTON, Iowa -- Catherine Mary 'Kay' Miller, 86, Tipton, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton from a rare form of lung cancer. The Rev. David Hitch will officiate the services. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tipton In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Manor Nursing Home and Hospice of Iowa City. Mrs. Miller was born March 4, 1919, at home in Tipton, the daughter of John P. and Mary Florence 'Mayme' Lynch Buresh. She married Leo Edward Miller Jan. 20, 1942, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton. She was a 1937 graduate of Tipton High School and a 1940 graduate of Tipton Junior College. She was a homemaker, farmwife and taught school in her early years. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Guild and St. Bernadette's Circle and volunteered at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Marjean Mente and husband Mike and Marilyn Paul and husband Chuck, all of Tipton; sons, John Miller and wife Linda of Tipton, Larry Miller and fiancée, Lynda Grimm of Delhi and Maury Miller and wife Gail of Tipton; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Costello and husband Cyril of Davenport and Marge Pelzer and husband Paul of Tipton. She was preceded in death by her parents.


Arthur F. Burkhardt

In 1920, Aruthr Burkhardt (21) lived with his in-laws at 844 Lowery Ave. NE, Canton, Stark County, Ohio. Arthur was a mill worker in a factory.

Arthur and Stella Burkhardt have not been found in the index for the 1930 US census.


Joseph Richard Noll

NOLL, Joseph R., 85, of Mozart, Wheeling, W.Va., died Thursday, July 17, 2008, in Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling.
Born in Wheeling on October 22, 1922, Joe was the son of the late Edwin H. and Catherine Callan Noll.
He was the former Chief of Police for the City of Wheeling; a lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus Carroll Council 504; Wheeling Elks; Past President of the Cave Club; a member of the Governors Committee on Crime and Delinquency; Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police; and served as the Director of Security for the WV Racing Commission. Joe was a First Sgt. in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Irene C. Lisak Noll in 1989; and one brother, Thomas Noll in 1998.
Surviving are one son, Edwin F. Noll and his wife, Judy, of Wheeling; one daughter, Deborah Rettig and her husband, Bill, of Wheeling; one sister, Anna June Noll of Wheeling; two grandchildren, Joseph Noll and his wife, Wendy, of Grafton, W.Va., and Jennifer Todd and her husband, Greg, of Richmond, Va.; four great grandchildren, Jocelyn Jellison of Blairsville Pa., Madelyn, Charlotte, and Catherine Todd of Richmond, Va.; four step grandchildren, Dr. Bill Rettig and his wife, Barb, of Centerville, Ohio, Dr. Deborah McKee and her husband, Dave, of Rolla, Missouri, Todd Hager of Bridgeport, Ohio, and Jenna Hager of Wheeling; six step great grandchildren, Brittney Rettig of Austin, Texas, Jacob, Connor, and Madison Rettig of Centerville, Ohio, Emma and Anne McKee of Rolla, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from noon to 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Lazarus House, 95 E. 11th Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
