Ruth Delores Crum

The following article appeared in the Monessen Daily Independent on Oct 30, 1939: CLUB ENTERTAINED Members of the Debutante club were entertained
Friday by Miss Ruth Crum at her home on Reed
avenue. Eight members and a guest were present.
The two honored guests were Billy Hott and William
Dawson of Belle Vernon. Games were played, music
and dancing enjoyed and a lunch served.

The following article appeared in the Monessen (PA) Daily Independent on Nov 7, 1945: Miss Ruth B. Crum has accepted a position as a
stenographer for Earl H. Shouse, merchandise broker
in Pittsburg. she is residing in Athalia Daily House for
Business Women.

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Charleroi (PA) Mail newspaper on November 11, 1946: CRUM-LAKEL WEDDING PARTY ENTERTAINED The marriage of Miss Ruth Crum of Monessen and
Charles Lakel of Fayette City, took place in the First
Methodist church of Monessen Saturday evening, at
6:30 o'clock. Members of the wedding party were entertained at
dinner Friday evening, following rehearsal in the Meth-
odist church of Monessen. Table appointments were in blue and white with a
centerpiece of blue and white mums flanked on either
side with lighted tapers. tiny bride dolls marked the
places. After serving, William Sichma, best man, and
Mrs. Lakel entertained with a group of piano selections. As gifts to her attendants, the bride-to-be presented
each with Sunbursts sets and make-up. She also pre-
sented her mother Mrs. Francis Crum, with several lovely
imported handkerchiefs. Mr. Lakel's gift to his bride-to-be
was a gold filigree Swiss musical powder box, and her
gift to his was initialed airplane luggage.


The following article appeared in the Monessen (PA) Daily Independent on Dec 12, 1950: Mrs. Lottie Lakel, of Fayette City, was removed by
ambulance to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Crum,
on Reed avenue, where she will convalesce following
a stroke. Mrs. Lakel's son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Lakel, are also residing at the Crum
residence temporarily. Mrs. Charles Lakel is the former
Ruth Crum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Crum.

The following divorce announcement appeared in The Caily Courier (Connellsville, PA) newspaper on April 30, 1963: Ruth Delores Lakel of Fayette City won a divorce from
Charles Randolph Lakel of Fayette City on charges of
indignities. They were married on Nov. 9, 1946.

An advertisement in the Sep 10, 1963 edition of the Valley Independent (Monessen, PA) newspaper announcing the opening of Paddy's Restaurant and Lounge identified the proprietors as Pat Traynor and Ruth Crum Lakel.

The following caption accompanied a picture of Ruth Crum Lakel that appeared in the Valley Independent (Monessen, PA) newspaper on May 27, 1968: FEMALE MAIL CARRIER--Making her appointed
rounds in true tradition of the U.S. Post Office Depart-
ment is Mrs. Ruth Lakel, of the Brownsville Post Office.
Mrs. Lakel is the former Ruth Crum of Monessen.

Obituary
Ruth D. Crum Traynor, 78, of Rostraver Township,
died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003 in her home.
Born in Belle Vernon on June 11, 1925, she was
the daughter of the late Francis and Minnie Theakston
Crum. Mrs. Traynor was a 1941 graduate of Monessen
High School and a 1942 graduate of Robert Morris
School of Business. She attended California University
of Pennsylvania, the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie
Mellon and Duquesne University at nights to advance
her education.
She retired in 1992 from Burns and Roe Service in
South Park. Ruth traveled the world doing what she
liked best, meeting and getting to know people of all
nations.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick J. Traynor;
one son, Francis "Randy" Lakel of Tampa, Fla.; one
daughter and son-in-law, Diedre Lakel Manack and
husband Joseph II of Rostraver Township; one step
son, Patrick M. Traynor of Phoenix, Ariz.; one step
daughter, Sherri Lynn Novak and husband Jeffrey of
Perryopolis; nine grandchildren, Amber, Brandon and
Randy Manack, Zachariah Lakel, Christopher, Shaun,
Justin and Nicholas Novak, and Bryan Traynor; one
great-grandson, Hunter Manack; and one great-
granddaughter, Olivia Ruth Manack.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her first husband, Charles Lakel.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and
7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. in the
Janes C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive,
Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township. There will be no
visitation after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, or Christ-
mas Day, Dec. 25.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 26 at 10
a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald L. Sim-
boli officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sacred
Heart Cemetery Mausoleum, Carroll Township.

Randolph E. Monack

ACCEPTED AT IIT
Randolph E. Manack, of Belle Vernon R.D. 3, has
been accepted for enrollment for the fall semester at
Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne. The
son of Joseph E. and Deidre L. Manack Sr., Randolph
will graduate from Belle Vernon Area High School with
the Class of 1988.


Brandon Monack

The following birth announcement appeared in The Valley Independent (Monessen, PA) on Aug 20, 1981:
Monack -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. II, Belle Vernon R.D.3, a
son, Brandon Lakel, on Aug. 13 at Magee-Womens Hospital,
Pittsburgh. this is the couple's second child, they also have
another son, Randy, 10. Mrs. Monack is the former Deidre
Lakel, daughter of Mrs. Ruth Traynor of Belle Vernon and
the late Charles L. Lakel. Paternal grandparents are Mrs.
and Mrs. Joseph E. Monack Sr. of Belle Vernon. Maternal
great-grandmother is Mrs. Minnie E. Crum of Monessen.


Margaret Mary Schott

Margaret Schott Rowley has not been found in the 1930 census. She was a widow at the time of her death.
