Evan A. Schaad

The following engagement announcement appeared in The Marietta (OH) times newspaper on December 30, 2006: Deem-Schaad
Heather Suzanne Deem of Marietta and Evan A. Schaad of Lowell announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of June Deem of Marietta, and Richard Deem of Reno. She is the granddaughter of Pat Hupp of Marietta.
She is a graduate of Warren High School and Otterbein College. She is employed as a music teacher for Frontier Local Schools.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Bruce Schaad of Waterford, and the late Tina Schaad. He is the grandson of Eula Reed of Watertown and Margaret Schaad of Lowell.
He is a graduate of Fort Frye High School and Marietta College. He is employed as a math teacher for the Washington County Career Center.
The couple will be married at 2 p.m. on April 14 at St. Mary Church in Marietta. A reception will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Hall in Lowell.


Heather Suzanne Deem

The following wedding announcement appeared in The Marietta (OH) Times newspaper on February 4, 2008 Heather Suzanne Deem and Evan Anthony Schaad were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on April 14, 2007. They exchanged their vows at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marietta with Monsignor John Michael Campbell officiating for the double ring ceremony. Fathers Tim Huffman and Mark Moore concelebrated the nuptial Mass.

The bride is the daughter of June Deem of Marietta and Richard Deem of Reno. She is the granddaughter of Pat Hupp of Marietta and the late Russell Hupp Sr.

The bridegroom is the son of Bruce Schaad of Waterford and the late Tina Schaad. He is the grandson of Margaret Schaad of Lowell and the late Lawrence Schaad, and Eula Reed of Watertown and the late Clennen Reed.

The bride wore a strapless diamond white corset style satin gown that featured an asymmetrical waist, with embroidery and crystal beads on the bodice, skirt and chapel train. Her headpiece was a fingertip veil of illusion tulle and satin. She also wore her great-grandmother’s engagement pearls. The bride carried a mixed bouquet of stargazer lilies, yellow mini carnations, yellow and lavender stocks, sweetheart roses, irises, caspias, salmon and soft pink roses, and yellow alstromeria.

Maid of honor was Ashton Deem, sister of the bride. She wore a salmon satin tea length dress with a scoop neckline and cream colored bow. Bridesmaids were Sarah Bilali, sister of the bridegroom; Laura Papalia; and Amelia Morgan. They wore dresses similar to the maid of honor’s, only in maize, lavender and mint, respectively. They carried flowers coordinated with the bridal bouquet.

Best man was Bruce Schaad, father of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Ardian Bilali, brother-in-law of the bridegroom; Jason Reed, cousin of the bridegroom; and Jordan Lowe.

Flower girl was Ella Bilali, niece of the bridegroom.

Guests were registered by Alexis and Marissa Hupp, cousins of the bride. Organist John Ontko and vocalist Joyce Huck provided musical selections, along with the St. Mary Choir. A reception followed at the Our Lady of Mercy Hall in Lowell.

The bride is a graduate of Warren High School and Otterbein College with a bachelor of music in education. She is currently employed at Parkersburg Catholic Elementary School as a music teacher.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Fort Frye High School and Marietta College with a degree in mathematics. He is currently employed at the Washington County Career Center as a math instructor.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple are residing near Lowell


Patricia Jane Weisend

The following wedding announcement appeared in the Zanesville Times Recorder on 9 Feb 1964. The article was accompanied by a photograph of the bride.

PATRICIA WEISEND, C.A. PERONE MARRIED SATURDAY IN ST.
NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH
Rev. Fr. Clement B. Durbin officiated Saturday in St.
Nicholas Catholic Church for the marriage of Miss Patricia Jane
Weisend and Charles H. Perone Jr. The double ring ceremony
was read at 10 a.m.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ashton Weisend of 1507
Bluff street, the bride was given in marriage by her father. Parents
of the bridegroom are the senior Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Perone of
1541 Bluff street.
A floor length gown of white brocade was chosen by the
former Miss Weisend. Accented by a self bow in the back, the
bouffant skirt ended in a sweeping chapel length train. The molded
bodice was designed with a sabrina neckline and long sleeves
which tapered to points over her hands. Held to a handmade,
scalloped crown of pearls her bouffant waist length veil was of
imported pure silk illusion. The bride carried a white prayer book
topped with a cascade arrangement of white Frenched carnations
and pompons centered with a white hybrid orchid corsage.
A cousin of the bride, Mrs. Larry Crum of Athens, was
matron of honor. She wore a dress of emerald green delustered
satin styled with a street length, sheath skirt beneath a bouffant
overskirt. She wore a small double crown trimmed in pearls to
hold her circular veil, and she carried a cascade arrangement of
emerald green tipped pompons attached to a white satin muff.
The bridesmaids, the Misses Lyne Evec, Susan Myers
and Carol Patterson, wore dresses and veils of gold identical to
those wore by the honor attendant. They carried honey bronze
pompons with ivy streamers and hyacinth florets in cascade
arrangements held to muffs of white satin.
Joseph Luby served his brother-in-law as best man.
Seating the guests were Danny Durant, John Quinlan and Jeff
McFarland.
Peggy Perone, sister of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
Ring bearer was Keith Alvis of Columbus, cousin of the bride.
Thomas Weisend was altar boy for his sister’s wedding.
Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was held
at the Town House Motel Restaurant.
A reception was held from 1 until 3 p.m. at the K of C
Hall. Guests were served by Mrs. Joseph Luby, sister of the bride-
groom, Mrs. Donald Cotterman of Somerset, Miss Margaret
Durand and Miss Linda Carpenter of Lewisville, a cousin of the
bride. Presiding at the guest book were the Misses Carol Carpen-
ter of Columbus and Sylvia Ramsey of Norwich, also cousins of
the bride.
The new Mrs. Perone is a graduate of Rosecrans High
School and is employed as a laboratory secretary at Good Samar-
itan Hospital. She is a member of the church in which she was
married.
A graduate of Zanesville High School, the bridegroom
is presently station at the U.S. Naval Aviation Technical Training
Unit at Jacksonville, Fla. He is a member of St. Thomas Catholic
Church.
